Don't believe anything posted by Barry Schwartz... He's making a big deal out of small things... Like that post he has when "he said" that building links can do more harm to a site... Barry Schwartz is an Internet Marketer he'll do everything to get more attention traffics/conversions etc..

I suggest you should not read any of his article or you'll have more worries than you already have.

He did not say building links can do more harm to a site. He was reporting what John Mueller said.

He also is not the one saying how significant this update will be. He is just reporting what people from Google are saying.

Wrong choice of words. LoL.. Yes he did not say that. My bad.. But he did made a big issue out of it and he had other articles that doesn't have sufficient proof.. Most of his articles are plain conspicuous nothing more nothing less.

Pay Barry no attention if Danny Sullivan supports his post then and then I'll believe that there are truths in his articles...

Honestly, he just reports what others are saying for the most part. He rarely gives his own take on anything.

Reporting or Marketing? People have different level of understanding on things dude check this out title of his article ---> Google: Try To Avoid Link Building Because It Can Do More Harm Than Good" .. On this report of Barry he is just adding more confusion and more wrong information to the public... That's not reporting...

Check out all other articles he post it's more like a Marketing Campaign approach..

            Are you his relative Mike?

Of course the title is going to attract attention, but it was not something Barry said. John said it. In the article, Barry made it very clear where the source of information was coming from.

So no, Barry was not feeding wrong information to the public. He was repeating what John was saying. Barry did not say it was true or that everyone should listen to it.

It is a news site. Of course he wants to get more traffic and visitors because the site makes more money that way. But he does not create the information on the site. He just reports on what others are saying. Everyone can make their own judgements about the information.

I'm not sure what is so hard for you to understand about that.

Let's just all agree that it's going to be a big one and for mobile only.

Google has prepared webmasters for months so they better deliver right?

Worst case, they mess up (like in most major algo updates) and make it up by the 3rd week. Let's see what happens

That's right. We're the free labor converting websites to look better on mobile to justify Google's ads and knowledge graph.

Google doesn't really intend on showing our sites for as many searches as possible, and doesn't worry about those who wear out their finger scrolling and scrolling to find the organic results.

Ok, that update will definitely affect sites, whether it affects to a greater extent than Panda, Penguin e.t.c. updates, no one knows for sure.

Whether something affects SEO is super simple to find out: Simply ask yourself what does Google want to give its users? As Google knows that most people are moving to mobile devices to browse the web (although there's no doubt that laptop / desktop browsing is still common), it wants to give mobile users of Google a great experience so that people still continue to use Google. So Google will give importance to sites which are responsive and mobile-friendly.

What we should be concerned now is how we all can optimize the mobile version of our site to make it search engine friendlier.

Sounds pretty good if your target market is an older person who spends 6 minutes or more on average browsing your site on a desktop and then makes a purchase.

Just make sure your site is not mobile optimized and filter all those non purchasing time wasters without having to put additional staff on to answer their lazy enquiries because they need spoon feeding and are not really your ideal prospects.

    Bring it on.
