I think you are using for PBN and may be your blog has less content or not update regulated. I have seen blogspot is ranking well if the content is great in the last week searches.

Oh, no I'm not asking why my blogspot blogs aren't ranking. I don't even have any blogspots. I was just wondering why I don't see as many blogspots on the first page compared to a couple years ago.

Why do you use Blogspot with a custom domain? You mean your own domain? Does using your own domain affect the "piggybacking" juice due to Blogspot's authority status?

BTW, to the original poster, I personally have terrific results using Blogspot.

There's no "blogspot authority status". That's just a misconception.

Every subdomain is a new site with an empty link profile, and they're not going to inherit anything from the "parent" domain. The only way blogspot.com domain could affect the visibility of a blogspot blog would be that the owners of the domain linked to the blog - and Google is not going to give you a free ride.

Using a custom domain is a very good idea, because when you control your address space you pretty much control your SEO. Sites can be rebuilt, but lost domain is lost forever.

The main reason is less to do with SEO and more to do with control.

When you use something like blogspot, you're at the FULL mercy of blogspot - if at any point in time blogspot thinks your site does not meet their requirements, they'll remove your site (not from search engines, but completely delete your site with little to no warning)

As you know almost every industry is full with competition, and that's why people are using their own domain and web hosting so that their property remain secure and nobody can hijack their website. In free blogging platforms like blogger, wordpress etc. you don't know when you become a victim of their guidelines and they shutdown their whole site.

That's why you're not seeing blogspot and other web 2.0 websites in top page SERP, because people are more careful about their hard work and their online properties.

I see blogspost ranking all the time on page one. However, it's not my preference to use as a blogging platform because I don't deal with free hosting platforms.

My own results seem to indicate VERY STRONGLY that Blogspot and Weebly have extra juice. I have gotten fantastic SERPs with those two.

Create a mix of content and paste it into 3-4 blogspot blogs (links to your website included). It's the only one way to take advantage of blogspot and drive traffic to your primary business ;-)

You don't search for the right things. Simple.

Blogspot has nothing to do with being seen or not seen.

Reminds me of the people who swear that .info does not rank
because they have not seen them.

Besides, with blogspot you can use a custom domain. So, you
would never know if it was a blogspot unless clicked and did some
      digging.

Blogspot Still Relevant? Makes no sense.

Blogspot is ranked as around the 20th most visited site in the world.

      Someone's using it for something.

In my opinion people are prefering Wordpress as their main priority and Wordpress is also working very good. So that no one make their blogs in blogspot.

Seems like Google Algorithm completely ignoring the backlinks which is showing in blogspot sites. Off page SEO become very hard nowadays for those who were earning backlinks using blogspot. LOL

I've not seen any stats or any credible comments that agree with your view.

If you mean that Google doesn't give any weight to links from blogspot subdomains that don't have any quality links to them... Well, that's business as usual.
