I am curious about if I am to a point I want to start looking to hire a consultant.

If I have a 2 word keyword I would like to get raised (preferably to #1 with the help of a consultant. Not sure how tough it would be for a pro to do this (I've failed to rank it on the first 7 pages in the last 4 years, lol) but here is my question.

If I want the SEO to raise my main url with this keyword (white hat only) am I looking at having to hire them long term to keep this ranking? I'd rather pay for the service once give them time to get the site ranked and be shown how to maintain it at a high ranking.

Just curious.

It's good to get some outside perspective. Depending on your niche I would have a consultant sign a non disclosure.

Sometimes I just got to call BS. Why would someone have time to waste here when they are pulling in $72k per month? You'd think they would be busy investing. I do know someone who pulls in over $100k per month but then he has a MD at the end of his name. More like the signing up of people contributes to his income more than anything else. Not that there aren't any people who get rich off Amazon or Ebay but those are harder and harder to come by.

You could just have someone consult with you a few times. A lot of SEOs do this. I've done it a lot where I will just do a few 60 to 90-minute conference calls and collect an hourly fee. I advise the client on what they need to do, but they do all the work. I'm just consulting.

Agree with MikeFriedman, a couple hours' consulting. Ask for a non-disclosure if you think it is necessary -- a professional would not disclose your information anyway. So... it comes to mind that if you need a privacy clause you haven't found the right consultant yet!

SEO is an ongoing process, everyday there arises a lot of competition in each and every field, it is important to maintain the visibility of the site with every algorithm update.you can increase your website rank by hiring an SEO once and then maintain your site daily by yourself, you can take more advice from the SEO services as shown in signature.

Coming from an expert digital marketing consulting background to many large corporations and small businesses, here are my two cents.

Q: .... Not sure how tough it would be for a pro to do this.

    It can be done.

Q: If I want the SEO to raise my main url with this keyword (white hat only) am I looking at having to hire them long term to keep this ranking? I'd rather pay for the service once give them time to get the site ranked and be shown how to maintain it at a high ranking.

It needs to be a long term thing. If all top SEO consultants gave away all their trade secrets, it would be equivalent to lawyers giving away all their persuasion secrets and doctors legitimately transferring their certificates.... not possible.

Firstly you can research why you did not hit the first page. If you can solve this then you find out your problem. If not you need to for seo service. But be cautious max. are not doing their work manually. If you require white hat seo with guarantee then i can give you. As you are looking white hat seo it will take time and result also will stay longer. Looking for replay.

It is best to consult with your friends and well wishers before hiring an SEO. As you are in need of promoting your website for a 2 word keyword, I don't know to what extent this might be helpful for you to be successful in this work. So, please consult with your well known and well experienced friends who are all working as SEO.

Stop it already, that is a blank wordpress site. Been like that for a year.

      So, no, they cannot.

And stop posting the same, word-for-word post on every thread on SEO. Doesn't do anyone any good.

Its too difficult to advise at this point in time. Your site might be totally messed on page wise or your link profile might be too weak.

You have so many factors to consider to ensure its a success. From my experience, great SEO campaigns work when you have the following:

    1. A great SEO - (How will you know...all they can do is show past results)
    2. Patience on the client side
    3. Good health budgets
    4. Luck with Google
    5. Belief in SEO from client side

If anyone of those break, specifically, points 1,2,3,5, you will fail the campaign before its even started. Get an audit done first before you hire an SEO consultant.

    Wishing you success

As far as my 0.02 on SEO for beginners. I actually read all about it on Google's own releases on SEO and then went to Yoast's website.
