Hi,

I have a question in regards to the organic ranking for local keyword searches such as 'Website Design (City)'.

I am aware that the local pack ranking can be increased through the increment of NAP placement, however do the organic results for local keyword searches also benefit from NAP /Citation submissions?

I have a competitor who is first, we are second organically - however we have a much better link profile. If I work on the citations, could this possibly increase organic ranking for that website design term?

Thanks.

Citations are mostly for local benefit, meaning the pack, not organic. However, a lot of citation sources allow links back to your website which could end up helping and since they will have NAP it could end up showing more local relevance.

So... yeah, it does make sense to get citations even if you don't have a pack displaying.

You can try Google Map listing for your city. Then do local classified submission and local business listing. These things can give you local business.
