Suddenly dropped for certain keywords?

Hi there,

I was checking my ranking today and for a couple keywords I seem to have completely disappeared.

Other keywords haven't moved.

Does anybody know why this happens.

    It may be temporary my rankings change all the time, or you may have been penalised have you been participating in black aht strategies

      Mine go up and down for my targeted keywords, while other keywords seem to stay steady. I think it is caused by the competition. If I am targeting a keyword so are a lot of other people. When I rank higher, they get pushed down. When they do SEO and rank higher, I get pushed down. Sort of like a teeter-totter although around here they call it the "Google Dance."

    Have you been using backlink packages , it happened to me when I used them.

    Is the keyphrase often used in anchor text from signatures etc? Do you use that anchor multiple times from the same domain?

    Same thing happened to me - but only us data center. still on 1st page for Canadian data center.

      It happened to me last week.

      Some warriors said it is because i'm using too much same anchor text to link to my site and Google penalized for it.

      Not really sure it's true or not..but at least it make sense for my case because it happened a day after i did massive social bookmarking.

      Solution?..Very simple...forget about that keyword and concentrate on new keywords.
