Should Google not tell you why they are de-indexing you?

This is what i got: "Pages on this site appear to use aggressive spam techniques such as automatically generated gibberish, cloaking, scraping content from other websites, and/or repeated or egregious violations of Google's Webmaster Guidelines."

My blog does not use cloaking, gibberish content or scraped content.

I deleted few links from the blog that did not seem that right.

I applied for reconsideration request and then I got this:
Google received a reconsideration request from a site owner for [my site url].
We've reviewed your site and we believe that [my site url] still violates our quality guidelines.

Are they not responsible to tell the site owner why they are banning the site?

Why do they have to play games?

Strange!

That list consists of examples, it's not an exhaustive list of all that can be wrong with your website.

Without seeing the website any reply on this forum is a guess. Can you share it?

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

    It's not strange at all.

You're thinking from your own perspective instead of looking at Google's point of view.

If Google handed out step-by-step instructions every spammer in the world would be ranking #1 for their keywords within a week.

Unless you show the domain/URL all we can do is guess your spamming out the site or you bought a domain where the previous owner blasted the domain with spammy backlinks which would still be your own problem for not checking the backlink profile before buying the domain.

Also, look at your Google cache (text version), maybe you have base64 spam on your webpages that can only be seen on the text version of a webpage.

If you're using wordpress, perhaps change your theme in case it's got spam in it?

If it's a Wordpress site then it could just as easily be a WP plugin causing base64 spam, so changing the theme in that case wouldn't help If a problem plugin is still active.

The link I posted above has instructions for finding base64 spam on a webpage.

Your website can be violating any number of things, and I doubt Google will tell you exactly what they are! Check your backlinks first, see if you have any links that are spammy or suspicious and remove them. Check your content as well, who writes the content for you? If you're paying someone to write articles, it's possible they didn't do a very good job..

I am saying from a general point of view. It is like you are just walking on the street, you get arrested and are fined and not told why.

Also, look at your Google cache (text version), maybe you have base64 spam on your webpages that can only be seen on the text version of a webpage.
Thanks, I am going to check this. I just changed my theme like 2 months back.

Actually, it is a lot different than that. In most countries you are free to walk on the streets. It is your right to walk on the streets. It is not your right to rank in Google SERPs.

It's more like you were walking on a street in a private park, did something against the posted rules of the park, and were then escorted out by security.

Make sure to look at the Google Cache (text version) of your pages, it has to be the text version of the page.

If there's any base64 spam/links it will stick out on the text version of the webpage.

You are already assuming he has a base64 links, and we still dont know his urls, the only think we can do in order to help him better is to know what is his URL,what happends some times (when you are in a market with a lot of images, videos and flash) is that people just write a short description and even it is not scrapped your content will be counted as duplicated, scrapped or spunned versions of someboby else, if this is the case you need to write longer text versions and add them in the description field in your video/image XML map

Not really. That's just a suggestion, and not a bad one. If OP is confident that he's not doing anything wrong, spam links are on the top of the check list.

Yep, the base64 was only a suggestion. I suggested to check that because it's very easy for someone to hack a WP theme or plugin before the end user ever downloads.

You should really start your own thread. These cases aren't usually exactly the same, and just by asking help for a particular site you're already going for something completely different than OP had in mind.

Is there a some kind of reason that the exact same or very similar content is on several other domains? Is this a real business site or some sort of a link scheme?

And yes, you've got spam links.

Google does not have to cater to you, they do not care about you, all they do is care about themselves. You just have to fit into their system, they are not going to do anything to make your life easier.

      Thanks Mark
I know that, but as Google control everything we need to dance to their tune.

I'm struggling to find out how I can do that?

Actually Google does some things to make a webmasters life easier.
      • Keyword Planner
      • Webmaster Tools
      • Google Analytics
      • Youtube (free video bandwidth ($))
      • Picasa (free image hosting ($))

They'll even tell you If your link profile sucks (Disavow), lol, even If it is baited.

And probably the most important tool is their search engine, they could easily sell the first spot to the best bidder, nevertheless they allow you to be there if they like you.
