Forums,Coments,Dir Submission...Dead, How do you create backlinks?

Hello Everyone!

I'm searching for how to get Quality backlinks from quite few days now, on warrior forum as well as tried Google.

On almost all previous threads here on warrior forum, people suggest to do blog commenting, forum posting, directory submission, article marketing blah blah blah and then, on almost every thread, someone jumps in saying - Hey, Days are gone when these strategies used to work, they've no real value now in 2015 or may even harm your ranking blah blah blah....

My question is if all these methods are dead, then:

- How you guys are doing it now?
- What works now in 2015?

And I'm already aware of Guest posting but of course you can't really rely on that single method.

Another thing that looks legitimate to me is Broken Link Building. Have given it a try but seems like most of the sites with resource pages are really crap or there is no one to respond. If this method works, how you guys are doing with it? May be I'm missing something about broken link building...

Would appreciate everyone's help!

The old link building techniques aren't dead, over time Google has added more metrics to it's algo which means links per se will hold less value than years ago.

Means you have to work harder to achieve the same as before, made even worse by significantly more competition as more sites are built.

Also Google has got better at spotting patterns of unnatural links, so what Google couldn't discount in the past at all, now they can to some degree, so it's not a good idea to stick to one form of link building. Used to be able to rank a site on pure spammed comment/guestbook/forum links, doesn't work any more due to nofollow and Google changing.

I aim for linkbait, you can't go wrong with something that generates natural links. With linkbait it's hit and miss, some things work really well others a complete bust.

You are discounting the risk associated with those link building methods. It's not as simple as Google not counting those links, it's the fact that you'll get smacked into oblivion with a Penguin update.

If it was as simple as Google discounting the methods then in theory I could still spam my way to the top as some of the links would fall through the cracks, so to speak.

People that utilized any of the aforementioned links are gonna be in a world of hurt come the next penguin update.

OK so let me share some more details with you guys to get better help.

I've 30+ Good Quality articles (all 1000+ words) and site is around 6+ months old. I've done no backlinking at all so far. I'm getting few clicks from search engines (3-8) daily. Is this traffic normal without doing any backlinks, or even without backlinks I should expect more(that would obviously mean I am missing something with on-page SEO)?

Below is my plan for creating backlinks, and my main concern is: Do you believe it's safe (for Google updates)?

        - Manually creating blogs with unique article on free blogging platforms
        - Posting on Forums with blog feature (Like we've here on warrior forum)
        - Manual Useful comments on high PR blogs

For the first two, I will then buy social bookmarking service on Fiverr to get some link juice. That's all.

Is it safe like this? And will such links be useful?

P.S. I will be doing Guest Posting and Broken Link Building along with above mentioned methods. But these two need much more effort (at least for me) so I'm looking to add some other methods as well.

Manually creating free blogs and linking to your money site won't help much if you don't build link s to the free blogs. Since you haven't built links to your money site how will you build links to what I assume will be lower quality feeder sites?

Posting on forums for direct SEO benefit is a waste of time, the links tend to be nofollow, Warrior forum is a nofollow forums, this means ZERO link benefit is passed via the links. This will not gain SEO rankings.

Comments tend to also generate nofollow links, so again no direct SEO value adding links in comments.

All the major social networks where they allow links are again nofollow, so no direct SEO value adding links from social networks like Facebook.

When link building take into account the only benefit you get from nofollow links is direct traffic and indirect SEO value IF the direct visitors add dofollow links from other websites.

Take my sig links, no direct SEO value, if you visit my SEO tutorial and add a link to it from your website, that's SEO value. Since I'm on an SEO forum that could happen, if I had sig links to say my classic literature sites (I won several), it's highly unlikely anyone is going to visit from here let alone add dofollow links because they saw a link to a literature site here.

Getting and keeping a variety of different ‘independent' high quality links to your website is still the most important factor in getting SERP.

Google hates paid links because it is an obvious way to generate heat signature a site might not deserve.

Google likes it natural, because that way, we do google’s work for it and identify hot sites by linking to them. One things is for sure though.

Wikipedia is an example of a hot site. It’s probably the hottest site on the planet alongside google. And of course, wiki’s a natural phenomenon now.

The next, you know what to do! Take action guys!

Look for the External Links section on any wikipage. Click the [edit] link and then add yours. Be aware that your contribution may not be permanent. If someone doesn't think it belongs there, they'll remove it just as easily as you added it.

Those links are nofollow and have no direct SEO value.

I have a domain with over a hundred Wikipedia links (added naturally by Wiki users), doesn't help. I wouldn't spend valuable time generating nofollow links for SEO reasons.

Do you put your link on relevant pages? Or just any page. It just seems that in order to not be spam you would have to place your link somewhere it would be relevant.

Don't believe everything you read. Those methods are still working! Along with other ways to create backlinks of course, but these methods are quite efficient as well! Maybe not for improving your rankings (because most backlinks created using these methods are nofollow), but traffic wise, they really do help (assuming you choose the right blogs, right forums ecc.)

    No method is dead.

They just decrease in value as others gain in value.

The point is to do EVERYTHING in moderation and in a natural way.

Relevant comments, quality Web 2.0 site links, directories, reviews, guest blogs, articles, press releases, they all still work.

Just mix it up and think quality.

Create content that other people want to link to.

Do you have a new product coming out? Tell people about it, send out review copies to bloggers, new outlets etc.

Do you have a legit email list? Send out a survey which collects information about their buying habits, or other information which you could turn into good content, or an infographic. Make sure you entice them to complete the survey (coupon for your ecommerce store, for example).
