Through testing. You've already gotten the biggest part out of the way -- overcoming your first failure. You did it on a grand scale, too.

You can be commended for your work ethic.

Yukon gave you plenty of advice in that thread. It's an SEO 101 course.

You can learn different link building techniques here on the forums. Backlinko.com is another good one.

Spencer Haws and Pat Flynn both have niche site backlinking strategies that they've built case studies (that are still ranking) around.

Without testing what works and what doesn't though, you'll never know for sure.

Your 10 failed sites is a big step towards learning what doesn't work.

Stop translating content, write it yourself. And more than a few pages. Even rewriting the page after Google has translated it would work better than what you're doing now.

Keep the affiliate links off your site until you actually start generating SEO traffic to it.

Focus on getting guest post or PBN links.

You're probably going to fail a few more times before you make it. Just the way it goes.

You'll succeed eventually though, just because you see you messed up and are wanting to learn the right way to fix it.

I suggest studying the successful SEOers in the industry.

Alex Becker from source-wave.com and Brian Dean from backlinko.com are my favorites.
Go through their SEO for beginner guides and articles so you understand the core concepts of SEO.
Kissmetrics also has a great SEO for beginners guide.

Then go back to taking action like you did with your other 10 sites.
Test, tweak, and fix as you go.

3 hours applying for every 1 hour of study.

To learn about SEO, you first need to read about certain things, like what is a backlink, what is a keyword and how to they work... ecc. Learn the basic concepts first, in other words.

And then, you should definitely keep reading - because there will always be changes and new things to read about, you're never done with learning about SEO - but you should also apply the techniques on your own. See how they work. See IF they work. Test things out, in other words.

SEO is about practicing, not for learning. You should join a company and do SEO. I am sure you will learn a lot from that.

Doing SEO for your website is part of the business, and you should be persistent in it's process. I understand that you are very serious in learning more about SEO. I would suggest that you should try invest your time to learn in a SEO training course that is super effective and up to date that can give you a lot of targeted organic clicks coming from the Google search. It will be worth of your time, but it's your decision if you want to consider it. Good luck!

The correct way to learn SEO is to learn from those who ranked sites in the top search engine results pages.

Understand how SEO works and determine the necessary elements in order to make this work.

Practice and measure your results. See what is working and do more of it. Keep improving until you master how to rank sites in your chosen keyword.

Keep learning, be open and ready for updates in SEO strategies.

The above steps are what I believe to be the CORRECT way/s to learn SEO.
