I realize Google analytics only shows traffic from search queries, but does Google consider all traffic to your site when ranking you?

What has traffic got to do with rankings?
Since when has Google Analyicis only showed traffic from search queries?

I thought one of Google's criteria for ranking was the number of unique visitors to a site. No?

        Traffic doesn't rank pages.

Well dang. I read an article the other day that was apparently full of crap. The article even went into detail about how the "bounce rate" on a site was a factor in ranking.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Bounce rate is traffic on Google SERPs clicking a link for a ranked page, landing on the money site page & clicking the Back button on their browser to go back to Google SERPs because the money site page either sucked or was irrelevant to the original search query.

Solution, rank pages that are relevant to search queries & have a good call-to-action on the money page.

Either way bounce rate is an extremely low percentage of Google algo. I would be more worried about wasting traffic (traffic bouncing back to the SERPs) than where Google ranked the page.

The core for ranking pages is strong followed backlinks & text.

Most articles about SEO are just that. Full of crap.

How does Google even know how much traffic a website gets?
