I just optimized 3 of over 10 articles on my wordpress site; now is the waiting game, how soon can I start seeing generated traffic to articles optimized by use of yoast plugin?

days, weeks, months??

    Months or probably years because posting articles will not take you anywhere. Marketing is what will bring traffic in.

    You just launched the product (the article or your website). To bring traffic to your product, you need to do marketing - or I must say intensive marketing.

    You can choose to go for free marketing (like SEO) or paid marketing (like PPC).

    It's impossible to tell. It depends on how well you optimized them, what keywords you used, ecc., ecc... You just have to wait and see.. Meanwhile, you should definitely try and increase traffic using other methods as well.
