Cheat SEO?

Hello guys, access this site: hxxp://www.yremalta.org and look in the code for the url: hxxp://gojipros.com.br.

this url is in the header, and with "display: none", the linked site have the first position to the kw "goji pro", by the way that is the only kw that have commercial appeal that this site ranks well, and I think that's more than enough for the sales.

There's something that I missed in this situation, or is this pure cheat?

    If they've got "optimizations" under display: none, they're just doing it wrong. Google has been able to spot this kind of stuff for years. Here's their support document on it.

    Someone can access the link and confirm that "display:none"? This site ranks very well, and since some months, surviving Penguim updates.

      I thought you had this confirmed. Why did you start the thread if that wasn't the case? I looked, and there was none of that.

      One display: none isn't probably going to get them penalized. There's all sort of legitimate reasons to hide a bit of text on occasion. Google might not just give any link juice to that link, or something like that.

      Or maybe they indeed received a warning. We can't know that. This might've been a case of link spamming.

    Currently there's no hidden link, if it used to be there consider the site in question could have been hacked and the hidden link added by a blackhat SEO. Maybe they fixed it.

    Some years ago was tracking the free recipe SERP (used to rank high for it) and found one of the top sites (PR7 home page) had a lot of hidden links, I contacted some of the sites with the hidden links and they had indeed been hacked, wrote about it at: Blackhat SEO Hidden Links

    Looks like the site that benefited from the hidden links is carrying a Google penalty now.

    Yes, the "display:none" vanished now, but was in the header when I opened the topic. In that the case I saw at least 3 sites linking to the affiliate site with "display:none".

      Send the site owners an email and ask them if they know they have hidden links. They could be hacking victims.
