since some of my pages have been indexed/crawled (including images)

I USED to get visitors but ever since changing the 'homepage' of the website the visitor count has went down to zero.....for example i changed the homepage to 'about us' instead of the main articles that used to be the home page and now there are no visitors coming? why do you think that is

As always, editing/removing the on-page text of a ranked page can drop a page in Google SERPs. You have to be careful when messing around with ranked pages.

Then again it could be bad timing & you've lost backlinks that previously helped rank the page.

Yukon is right in his comment, but there's not enough data to get beyond that point. Where did your visitors come from? Where did they actually land? If it was SERP traffic, what were they searching for? What did you have on the previous front page that might've got them there?

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Of course it dropped to zero.

If you did what you said and did it in a WP site then you're links still go to your .com (your main address) but the page with the keywords Google was ranking at that address is no longer at that url.

Your page that was at xyz.com in Google's eyes is no longer there with those keywords. It's now about us.
Well, the incoming links to that page are not anchored with about us, but instead with the keywords you were ranking for. Plus your new page doesn't have the keywords you were ranking for on it.

So, yes, of course you lost the traffic.

Remember, Google doesn't rank sites, it ranks pages.
