Want to launch new image catalog page. Will relate to law enforcement and police. I checked two search terms (that pertian to my images which are cartoons) and searched: "police cartoons" and "law enforcement cartoons" and "Police Cartoons" brings back: 43,100,000 results
"Law Enforcement Cartoons" brings back: 1, 850,000

So when naming my new page (I mean title in Yoast plugin) also the slug....should I choose the least competitive? I.e. "law enforcement cartoons" which only has 1,850,000 results?

addendum: I.e., when researching search terms that relate to potential page titles or slugs you will use, should the result with the lowest number of returns in search, be chosen?

The number of results in the search engine has NOTHING to do with the level of search competition.

In other words, just name it anything? Pertaining to cops + cartoons? Wondering

No. Find a metric that shows you something useful. Just because you happened to stumble upon a number that's useless for your purposes doesn't mean that the obvious next step is to give up.

Try to see how much search traffic is there for those keywords, and what kind of competition are you facing. Perhaps find a keyword tool to give you some more suggestions.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

        What's your excuse?

The number of search results is not the best indicator for determining competition level when it comes to keyword research. It is a bit dated, you really should be looking to see which keyword has the lowest competition on the first page of Google and go from there.

Hi SeoWizard....really appreciate this. I was thinking about the same thing....can you recommend a tool? Is there something we can use online or download? I'm done paying for "tools"....I am trying to find some free tool that is useful and reliable. Have you any suggestions? I value your input. Thanks!
