We have a website of more than 1000+ pages. At footer of website we have an option to write Powered by Keyword. On keyword we are giving link of our site. My question is wether to use keyword and give link to our site or use an open link. Please suggest as if we use keyword will be mark as spam by google or not?

Better to use the open link than a keyword and make the link to your site with nofollow tag.

Making it nofollow would be stupid. It's an internal link.

I would just use the name of the site as the anchor text.

Ya i would use either the brand name of the site, just the plain url or a combination of both.

Using the same keyword as an anchor for this many pages is a great way to get a penalty

Do not use a nofollow tag

It's danger when you are using 1000+ pages. I would suggest you to use the website name(Brand Name). Internal links are playing good role in ranking factor. So always use your internal links with DoFollow tag.

Go with rel=nofollow, because you can't control WHERE else the same link would be placed!

No, no, no. They are in complete control of where the link is placed. It is on their own site.

You can't control your own site? What?

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

Do not use no-follow link and use keyword in anchor text to add your website url.
