Each search engine has different search results for particular keywords.

It seem it is much easier to rank in Bing and Yahoo than it is in Google, even though Bing and Yahoo have more results for particular keywords.

Anyone else found this?
#bing #google #yahoo

I have good luck with Google and Bing but no luck at all with Yahoo.

For me, it took longer to get good rankings on Google. It was faster on Yahoo and even much faster on MSN. When MSN switched to Bing, my rankings were still good.

For me Google is the easiest and Yahoo second.

I find Bing/Live/MSN almost impossible to rank well in.

Im with you on that one.

It takes ages for msn/live/bing to rank my pages. eventually i get there, but i dont optimize for that, i just let it do what it wants to do, 70%+ of my traffic comes from google.

For me Google's faster than Bing and Yahoo when it comes to ranking, well based on what I have noticed and experience as well.

I ditto what Rick said. Seems like I can get ranked in Google easier than Yahoo. I haven't even checked out Bing yet. Thanks for reminding me.

The other day I was blown away when I Googled my main keyword, I was 4th on Google, and it was a Digg!

Personally, I think Bing is the easiest to rank. Almost all my major key phrases are on first page of Bing, but not on Yahoo. Google is pretty in the middle and you need alot of back links to see results on Google.

Yes, I think Yahoo and Bing are more succesptable to the SEO strategies we all know and love. These strategies keep us on top of these search engines much longer than Google which requires we keep our sites fresh with content, build new links, and so forth. The strategies I refer to are directory submission, blog commenting, (even on don't follow blogs I think) and so on and so forth.

    Thanks,

    George

I don't know about the ease of ranking but I know that there was an article released showing that users who search Bing are more likely to click than those on yahoo and google! But that is probably because Bing has so few searches in comparison.

I find it easiest to get ranked well in Bing quickly with highly competitive keywords. Yahoo is a complete mystery to me. Google does its dance and I usually have to wait quite awhile (with competitive keywords) to get ranked well.

on the few websites that i had, none of the traffic are from bing. In case you are wondering,I have added my url to Bing a couple of weeks back.

Most are from google and secondly yahoo. in the ratio of 80 / 20

Maybe because i am runing Adsense?

each of them have a different formula to how you will rank - it's no surprise that we are all different on all 3

I dunno. I think Google lies!

On Google, I'm 13 for my keyword - but very little traffic. On Bing, I'm not even in the top 100. I wasn't even sure I was listed until I put quotes around my url. So I think that's explaining why I don't have any traffic.

    Is google scamming us???

Your traffic doesn't only depend on your ranking on Google - it also depends on how many people are searching for your keyword. You can be on the top ranking for your keyword but if there are very few people searching for your keyword, you won't get much traffic.

You should also get better results once you reach the first page in search results.

If I'm not mistaken, I just read somewhere in the annals of my RSS reader that Bing will be powering yahoo's search engine soon enough - some sort of landmark deal between the 2 companies.

It's supposed to be getting 18,000 per month. That's what the Adwords keyword tool says. Is that too low to work with?

18,000 seems good to me. You will maybe see a significant improvement once you reach the first page in search results.

But is it worth it? I found that my site was #1 in Yahoo for a phrase that sounds like it's used often, but I guess it isn't, because I wasn't getting almost any traffic at all from Yahoo.

Actually, still am #1... today I had a single visitor, all day long. Not from Yahoo.
