Backlinks in 2015

Having been away from all of this for a while I am a little confused by the new world of Google's various animals. I am unclear these days a) how important backlinks are these days and b) how I can go about getting decent backlinks without buying them.

    If you created backlinks for your website, links should be related in your websites and also create dofollow links...

      What I mean is that previously I would post articles to article directories and to sites like Squidoo and Hubpages. I understand that this would now be of limited value (apart from the fact that Squidoo is no longer with us).

        Of course you can build backlinks for squidoo or hubpages. Moreover if you post benefit articles from people, then they will share it. But, why not build your own blog, then you can share it on social media? It will be more effective. I also use this approach to drive traffic to my site

    However backlink are important, but there are may other factors for increase SEO.

    Use dofollow backlinks, use original anchor text (not only "click here"), share backlinks with "friend" websites....
