Okay,

What happened to this thread / section??!? I skimmed through all these topics in regards to SEO and I feel like I've seen so much spam in my life.

Do we not have any moderators any more? Or what on earth happened?

    Site got sold, and we've now got a bunch of "professional" moderators who don't really know the topic. They delete spam if you report it, and move unrelated stuff to other forums, but they don't merge threads which would really help with the torrent of newbie questions.

    There are moderators. They just no longer remove the dumb questions. You can report away and they still leave them up. Not sure if they are doing that because they don't want to discourage the newbies from posting (not understanding that people posting this stuff have no intention of offering any value to the forum) or if it is just because they do not realize how stupid some of the stuff is because they do not know SEO.

    Either way, this is the new norm and has been for a long time. Intelligent SEO discussions really won't be found here, unfortunately.

        It's not all just "dedicated" spammers. 8 years ago, Americans were the majority here. The past 5 years has seen a steady rise in members from a certain country or region (which I won't mention) that now makes up perhaps 70-80% of the activity and the sheer numbers here. The old ones have all long left....

        DP Forum used to be the main hangout, but even that cesspool is not fit for activity now that it's largely dead. So they have taken over this forum, basically. It's all gone downhill.
