2.0 networks are a series of blogs created in platforms like blogger.com, wordpress.com, tumblr.com... just to post some content and place links to money sites or any other intermediate to create some link juice and make them rank higher.

I guess, IMHO, web 2.0 sites and 2.0 networks are two different things.

Web 2.0 refers to the "living web" which are user-generated sites and pages that behave like there are real people right there on your screen.. Social media sites like Youtube and Facebook are the best examples.

While, 2.0 network sites, as you have mentioned, are social layers created for the purpose of creating a big audience, linking content in several sites, and for making your primary source of content (& money!) immune to any Google slap.

      Am I right?

I think AndresNWD is referring to PBNs that may use "Web 2.0" sites as their "nodes". Nothing to do with social media platforms, and very much prone to being penalized.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

Thanks, nettiapina. I'm glad to know that it is still prone to being penalized.

I just finished watching a webinar about a guy who's making six figures a month using SEO for his sites, and through his video he advocates using PBN, of which I do not like. At first, I thought I would pick some really helpful tips from the video, but when I discovered he's advocating that technique, I immediately closed the video I'm watching.

What I do not like with using PBNs, is that same piece of content (snippets), get spread across the Internet just for the sake of getting more eye balls, which can be synonymous to using group auto-post app in Facebook spam groups.

Web 2.0 includes all of the social media websites. Think Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter etc. This can include wordpress, and blogger for their own platform sites.

Web 2.0 is all about interaction between the users on the sites.

Forums like this can be considered among the first web 2.0 properties.

Web 2.0's are sites which allow for user generated content

Some of the most popular web 2.0's currently include (not in any particular order) :

    1) Youtube
    2) Instagram
    3) Imgur
    4) Tumblr
    5) Pinterest
    6) Wordpress
    7) Blogspot
    8) Hubpages
    9) Twitter
    10) Slideshare

    List Of Top Web 2.0's

Not unless you have the time or resources, more isn't necessarily better. Having a solid audience and user base on a handful of platforms is better than trying to spread yourself thin on all of them.

Web 2.0 describes World Wide Web sites that emphasize user-generated content, usability, and interoperability. The term was popularized by Tim O'Reilly and Dale Dougherty at the O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 Conference in late 2004, though it was first coined by Darcy DiNucci in 1999.

That is the meaning found from google.

Web 2.0 describes World Wide Web sites that emphasize user-generated content, usability, and interoperability. Web 2.0 Websites typically include some of the following features/techniques:

    • Search: the ease of finding information through keyword searching.

    • Links: guides to important pieces of information. The best pages are the most frequently
    linked to.
    • Authoring: the ability to create constantly updating content that is co-created by users. In
wikis, the content is iterative in the sense that the people undo and redo each other’s work.
In blogs, it is cumulative in that posts and comments of individuals are accumulated over
    time.

Tags: categorization of content by creating tags that are simple, one-word descriptions to
facilitate searching and avoid having to fit into rigid, pre-made categories.

Extensions: automation of pattern matching for customization by using algorithms (i.e.
    Amazon.com recommendations).

Signals: the use of RSS (Real Simple Syndication) technology to create a subscription
model which notifies users of any content changes.

Generally Web 2.0 is for backlinking and content syndication

not sure why you think they are best for Page Authority or refer to in the old way Page Rank

From what I have found Page Authority is not as relevant as it has been in the past

Now it is all about Authority or what I like to use is Moz's Domain Authority since this is the only metric out there that even attempts to qualify what the difference is between websites for Authority

Google won't let us know so you use the next best thing out there is

Full points to LJBlake189 for finding the correct definition. Yes, "Web 2.0" is a very silly and overly broad definition from 1999. If you want to really discuss the topic, you need to be much more specific.

You know the links are nofollow, right? Why would you claim that they "drive link juice"?

So you got a patently untrue thing in every sentence. Congrats, I guess. No, this stuff doesn't work unless you know what you're doing, and not every SEO company tries to ride this pony. It's completely bonkers that you'd even make such a claim. I sorta know what a handful of companies in my are are doing, because they've told me. None of them relies heavily on "web 2.0" as far as I know.

No, it's not. It's bad if you don't know what you're talking about, if you post obvious falsehoods, or if you say stuff that you have no way knowing like you did in this instance.

I'm going to stop criticizing your posts on the moment when they aren't full of the aforementioned. That's yet to happen.

If you set up a new blog, that blog has no PR, and it's not going to inherit anything from the high-PR front page of the service. They do not "generate huge traffic", and the backlinks are worthless unless you take action yourself.

Web 2.0 has been used more as a marketing term than a computer-science-based term. Blogs, wikis, and Web servicesare all seen as components of Web 2.0. Web 2.0 was previously used as a synonym for Semantic Web.Some of the best sites for submitting web 2.0 are
    Blogger
    wordpress
    weebly
