Bolded text means you are emphasizing it.

Google looks at many signals, and that's one of them.

So, wannabes put crapola in bold, then scratch their heads.

Add this to "high up" on a page.

Be careful what you bold and put high up on a page.

Google does NOT care about everything on a page. That would
be ridiculous. It follows that people who make long, (longer)
posts and articles are treading water. Especially if they have
      no clue about anchors.

Twitter was always valuable, and it had nothing to do with links
          for seo.

What gets (re)tweeted and by whom, that matters. Twitter
          accounts carry authority.

It has nothing to do with nofollow links either. Twitter is global nofollow
for many reasons. Google looks at those nofollow links in a completely
different light than a nofollow spammed link on somebody's blog,
          forum, or website.

So when one talks about using twitter, nofollow is not in the mix.

Twitter being nofollow has zip to do with the useless effort of going
out and getting a bunch of nofollow links all over the place.

Your preaching to the choir... the fact is twitter as of today is yet to open up the pipe to Google. Yes there is a deal. yes it could be significant. ( to those understand how to author stamp their work ) but the reality is it still has not come to fruition.

As far as I know or have read there is no way to "set yourself up" in advance of the potential traffic. So again. SEO today is not different than yesterday.. Twitter is still not in the mix. I would pray to whoever, that once it is turned on all these goofs that have been using it for back linking etc wont come out ahead of the game ( but they probably will until there is the first "Twitter Update" )

Its like mobilegeddon.. we just wont know what there is and how to make it work to our advantage until it starts.

I know all that. It just strikes me that that's beyond basic. You should be bolding text even if you were not interested in SEO.

Makes it easier for people to read, understand and remember what you want them to.

My fear is that, put in an SEO syllabus, bolding will end up having nothing to do with anything, will be making readers wonder why some words are in bold and search engines scratching their heads.

Bolding should be part of Content 101... If you choose your keywords correctly and get basic written content creation, you don't need bolidng in SEO: content creation already's taken care of it.

Bolding text is much like linking text.. over used. If I had a dollar for ever "keyword link" in a page I had to remove from a clients site or a piece of Bold text.. I would have retired long ago.. Bold text and keyword stuffing with link text is over used and seriously not needed. I don't bold a dang thing if it is bolded on any site I work with its H tagged.

What gets awesomer is when they figure out the CSS code for "BOLDER" Its like a kid in a candy store bold here link there bold link here. just writing this crap about bold and links is giving me a head ache.

Be bold or go home... and if you are going home don't forget to leave a link

( Damn no-follow links, they take you no where but they are good for SEO? )

Do you ever manage to detect sarcasm or humor?

You can, of course, go through my post history to see that I've in fact referred to this deal several times in the past. And as others have pointed out, there seems to be no indication that the technical side of the deal is there yet.

Well, not authority in the SEO kind of way. Yes, people tend to react when celebrities whine and post pictures of their junk, but mostly retweets or replies don't even show outside Twitter.

What do you think even thousands of retweets are good for? They may rise your Klout score, but that's about all.

If, say, you were after the keyword cookie loves banana, you'd make your page URL be domain.com/cookie-loves-banana not, domain.com/p147, for instance.

Twitter is fine with porn. I know this because, uh, a friend told me.

You've seen the clip where someone scrolled a twitter feed in a live newscast, and stumbled across a penis immediately? And then they wonder why Google doesn't index tweets...

That's because as soon as you bring up content, a bunch of people will chime in with:
        you need 723 words
        you need 500 words
        you need 1,297 words

then, another bunch of people with jump in with
keyword density must be at least 3.1% but no more than 3.71%
        keyword density must be 2.4%

        then, another bunch will scream

if you have 500 words, the keyword must be 2.82% but if you have 724 words, the keyword can't be over 2.8042%

Then, they'll fight among themselves about which one is right, none will bring any proof of anything, but they'll go on and on and ruin an already lame thread. And where's the fun in that?

So comically you lay out your keyword density strategy for all to see, and watch as it flies over every ones head? OK yeah that's funny!
