Hi.

I want to try to bould a authority site, manly for seling links and try my way. But how do I choose topic?

First I was thinking to do one on fitness, but then after I read online, they would rather recoment to do one on protein, one on workout, one on nutrition ect.

What would you recommend?
#authority #choose #site #topic
  • WOW, that's a tough question.

If you've never built any kind of authority site before, niche tightly.

If you've done this a dozen times then you already know that you should niche loosely because you will have content production figured out by then.

Basically - this comes to how well you produce content. Can you produce 140 artiles a week (20/day)? If so, go broad, but focus on a subniche at a time and sell links in those subniches.

If you've never done this before and don't really know how to churn out content, niche tightly and develop both the expertise in the niche as well as in producing content.

EDIT IN: Mind you, it should always be quality content but creating shareable, linkable content is easy and outsource-possible if you give them the right directions. (Tip: Don't ask them to write articles.) Save your articles for your content or other highly-paid editorial content.

If you need to ask such a question, it means you are no "authority" on your topic. So how can you create an "authority site" on something you don't even know?

This term "authority site" has been utterly abused by internet marketers who are clearly non authorities on their websites. And depending on what topic you choose, the real bona fide experts amongst your visitors should be able to see holes in your "authority site".

Let's give a good example, chess. If you know nothing about chess, but attempt to create an "authority site", you just end up looking fake, when real experts in the game visit your site....

      Just sayin...

I guess it's safe to assume you won't be writing articles.

You always want to go with the path of least resistance. First start with things you are already knowledgeable of or don't mind doing.

There is no way to really choose, but you want to get into a market where you know you will be the most productive
