Why did I get slapped by google?

I don't write sponsored posts and when the google page rank updated I went from a 2-3 down to N/A.

I've been really busy with my day job and illness lately, could it be due to the lack of new material?

Can you give me an insight or suggestions? Any and all recommendations are welcome about anything on the blog while you're there.

I'm so new to this forum I can't post links yet, but the blog is doughdefender.com

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Google does this. It's normal. It's like a little test. They get you ranked high, test you for a few days, they see how you handle the traffic, how long the visitors stay, if short -they're unsatisfied with the results (or so Google thinks in my opinion), if longer, they like it. Then they just put you back, and maybe bring you back or not. It all depends, you need more links, more stable links, stronger links, good seo on the website itself and then if you've got the quality over time your position will get stronger and cemented right there and you won't be moving that much at all.

    my 2 cents.

Just keep on working and don't get discouraged. It happens. It's normal. Keep on doing a good work, and if you present high quality content, combined with an easily readable website, sooner or later, you'll be #1.

Thanks, I have been reading alot about building links. I'll work on that and of course more quality content. I know that's a recent problem.

If your traffic is unaffected don't worry, just keep working towards more and more traffic.

Ok, now my page rank is back. I wonder if this was just a PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair) error.

Sorry guys, thanks for the advice though!

Which keyword tool are you using? Some only measure up to 100 places and anything over that will show as N/A. So, if you drop to 101, you show as N/A.

A drop of 100 isn't that uncommon especially with younger sites. I have also noticed that my rank can shift from morning to afternoon, so I think part of it may be inaccuracies in the keyword tools.

That's the weird thing about Google, I got a site that I never promoted nor build links which got lucky to have PR3, then was penalized only to PR2, even though I have lots of sponsored reviews post
