International SEO

Hey guys,

I have a new potential SEO client that is looking for help with international SEO. Their clients come from all over the world, with a lot of them coming from the Middle East. Their current website is a dot com and doesn't' rank well in the US or anyplace else.

  • How different and difficult is would international SEO be? I've never done international, but have more than 7 years of great success with US national SEO
  • Will we need to have multiple domains for different countries or can I get a dot com to rank in the US while simultaneously ranking overseas (Europe and Middle East)?
  • What resources would I need to make international SEO work that I wouldn't already have for US national SEO?
  • How is international SEO priced vs. US national SEO?

    Why not tell them you have no clue, and send them on their way?

    Here's a tip. Most companies have a plethora of international sites.

    Oh here's another. The Middle East censors the internet, as
    well as virtually all media.

      Haha, I might send them on their way! The reason I've already is because I don't know if it is that much different from what I AM good at. The domestic SEO. If it's a big leap, oh well. But if it isn't, it might be something I like doing and will be really good at as well...I'm just trying to find out. If there is someone who actually know the international side and can chime in, that would be appreciated.
