Yeah, SEO doesn't work. Nobody is ranking in the top 10 anymore.

I would guess the tutorials you are looking at are awful or you are doing something wrong.

Without more details, nobody is going to be able to help you though.

I don't think so because my website is on number 2 position in Google, number 1 in Yahoo, and number 1 in Bing search engines. In SEO it take months or years to become stable in rankings. Investment and earned trust from the targeted users because of providing great user experience.

I think the sarcasm went right over your head on this one.

OP, I don't want to say you're doing it wrong, but you're probably doing it wrong. Why don't you let us know what kind of links you're building, your plan and your content. Are your keywords ranking at all? Even outside of the top 10?

SEO does work. The reason it works so well for some people is because they don't share with anybody else what they do. If you found something that worked really well for you in SEO and shared it with others people would simply copy it and it would not work as well for you anymore. So the best SEO strategies are kept secret for the most part.
But basic SEO works. They are basic guidelines for using keywords, headlines, number of words, media etc... stuff that works for everyone but it does not get you #1 ranking.

Of course it works, there wouldn't be so many seo agencies, tutorials and people who are engaged in it! You need to have right strategy, if you are new to SEO you can read articles about it, and of course get to know information about it. Here is good option too.

SEO is about trial and error, no one can tell how do it in a right way. Most of the SEO tutorial online talks about in general, like create an interesting article that people will love...the hell is that interesting article that people will love?

Create your own strategy and if it's work, keep it a secret or share it to me then it's not a secret anymore..

Not really unless you help yourself and describe your scenario. Every site and situation is different, and it's even possible that the answer is "it's not likely that you'd ever make this work".

If your project is feasible, you're doing something right, and you're looking at the right metrics you should start seeing some results in couple of months. But we have no idea about any of these.

- SEO works for the people who are doing it right. You can't come to a conclusion just by simply watching some tutorials and doing some thing that you call it SEO.
- If you are a beginner in SEO, just initially learn the off page tactics.
- Try building quality back links for your website. Take a look at the changes.
- Every day or a weekly basis, take your analytics and see what are all the back links which got your traffic or conversions.
- If you get relevant traffic and conversion from a strategy follow it and leave the strategies which are unfruitful.
- If you follow this, in one or two month, you can find what are the basic off page tactics which are working. Once you are strong on the off page, then go on learning the on-page SEO methods and SEM.

Of course it works, If you are judging your SEO on the basis of PR let me update you PR has not been publicly updated in almost 2 years now. A PR 0 page might actually be higher than that. So do your work according to SE and hope for best

When we talking about SEO few years back (before 2010) that wasn't hard task. Social book marking, Directory submission, forum posting,Article submission....etc more than enough to rank some keyword on good position.Every thing has changed last few years. Google introduce some new algorithms and avoid the spam and unnatural backlink methods and the over optimizing works.But now challenge is so hard. When you going to create backlinks to be more creative and spent lot of time.But SEO is still working.

If you think that there is no value of SEO then why do the websites' ranks fluctuate due to algorithm changes? The point is that you have to do it in a smart way or else you are going to be stuck with outdated methods. Have you tried competitor analysis? Is your on page done correctly? Are you using the full potential of social media? Ranking in SERPs is a cat and mouse game and its not easy.

SEO does work. Unfortunately every scenario is different. As a result,there is no one fix all solution or strategy.

Secondly seo takes time. Want to rank on the first position after two months for a competitive keyword? No way.

Thirdly,it depends on what and where you are reading. Even the good tutorials will not tell you the whole story. You need to figure it out yourself. Get a dummy website where you can practice while leaving your main website intact. That way you learn what works and what doesn't. Never implement a plan on your main website unless you have tried it.

SEO works only if you are using Onpage and Offpage techniques effectively.
As you say SEO in not working for you; it may be possible that you are missing something. or may be you didn't do your onpage effectively.

I would suggest you to do the Onpage SEO for the website again.

Hi Puma001, I just took a look through the comments and as you can see SEO works, but I didn't notice anyone ask to see your site you have done SEO on, if you could drop a link to it then it will allow us all to see exactly what you have done so far with your SEO efforts.

How long have you been working on the SEO side of your site, I mean for instance if you put the site up and then did SEO and didn't get results in days that would explain a lot, but you get my point, we need more information on what you have done up to now.

Since SEO isn't the main thing you want though, it's targeted traffic it would be quicker to buy it, saves you time and allows you to scale things based on your results.

SEO while it is great to be page one isn't exactly scalable since you don't control how many visitors visit the site or when like with paid advertising. So include your link or niche and everyone here will be able to help you out more.

SEO WORKS AND IT WILL WORK FOREVER.

It won't work more for spammers. As we know Day by day many websites are getting created so the competition has also increased many times than earlier. Also google is updating it's algorithm for better search results.

Now it's not so simple to work for all keywords but yeah you rank for the keyword which defines your business better than your competitor. In case you need any help you can drop a message.

Obviously SEO works if it is white hat SEO which approved by google. In the point of your site traffic you can post your link on social media mostly on facebook fun page or group pages. I think you will get your targeted traffic.

Of course SEO works, but, have much things involved. OffPage SEO, OnPage SEO, KeyWord Research, Domain Name, PageRank of backlinks, etc.

So...if you go try this with trial and error is more difficult to get the ranks fast. You can use the shortcuts of hire persons for do the right thing on your site.

SEO gives results if it is done intelligently. Unique content is the key. More you can do that is
- select your primary keyword that describes your niche

Well though being new in the field of SEO, i can confidently say that it does work... But it depends on the methodology that you take to pursue the goals.. Sometimes even a simple tweak in the meta tags do wonder.. For example: Recently I was able to improve ranking of a site by just removing the line breaker from title tags.. And performing 301 redirection to the pages that lacked gas.

So SEO does work but it totally depends on what niche you are..

SEO works if you do it properly for your website. There is one reaons that SEO don't work for you because you need to wait few days i meant to say you can't see exact results in just 1 or 2 days. If you do it properly then you can see its result in few weeks and you can easily rank your website higher in Google by follow SEO tutorials.

SEO is about too of quality content. And consistency. You have to always keep making links and quality content.

Also remember to spread keywords and search for long tail keywords at the end of the game it will take the majority of your traffic.
