Hi everyone, I know that you would be disappointed when you come to see

As a newbie ( new on on the way), I have many questions and would ask

what is in my mind now,

How can I do article marketing? what is that exactly?

what is conversion rate? never have the chance to grab that on my reading.

what is a landing page? how is that is relevant to ones site?

Sure I still remember what is backlink.

Thanks everyone, that's all, sorry for my stupid questions.

    There are no stupid questions!

First, you have to define to yourself what you want to achieve. Then to derive from that goal the activities.

Q: How can I do article marketing? what is that exactly?
A: You write an article and submit it to your chosen article directory/directories. You must be the one who holds the copyrights for that article.

Q: what is conversion rate? never have the chance to grab that on my reading.
A: Conversion rate is the percentage of people that took action that you pre-defined. For example: The percentage of readers that subscribed to your RSS feed or bought your products etc.

Q: what is a landing page? how is that is relevant to ones site?
A: Landing page is the page that a reader arrived to, usually it refers to a page that tries to sell a product or service (like the link that you use in advertisement on Google Adwords...)

I hope it is a bit clearer

That means merely writing to promote something? how long should be my article? and how can I hold the copyrights?

      Thanks again.

Holding the copyrights means that you wrote it or that someone (ghost writer, or your employee) wrote it for you.
In my opinion, an article should be around 400 words. This word count is not written in stone. It depends what you want to achieve, you can write it for the link or that the article is part of your pre-sale process, or that you want to gain acknowledgment in a specific industry...

Regarding conversion rate - I really need to understand your business in order to provide you with an answer. Generally, it is a measurement for "success action" that your reader performed. So if we will take an example, you want to know what is the conversion rate of readers at your site that subscribed to your newsletter. For every 100 readers that came to your site, 3 subscribed to your newsletter... so you have 3% conversion rate. It means that you managed to convert 3% of your traffic to subscribers.
