Does anyoen use PPC for list building and if so what is the best way to do it.

I have in creation a 40 page website, with no outgoing links, just pure content.

The front page is a list builder that gives away a free report, and it has an articles section that also focuses on capturing email address.

I want to launch a shock and awe PPC campaign to it.

Does anyone have any tips for which PPC networks are best for me to use for this campaign.

I want 10k people on that site within a week hehe.

Thanks.

Best Wishes

    Hi Intrepreneuer

A LOT of gooroos build lists using PPC. It's something I do quite a lot, but unless you know what you are doing in Adwords, it can be a real risk. Have you got much Adwords experience?

Oh yes, I can launch a campaign and have my ad's on the highest traffic sites for a whole week and not get one click.

So I guess I know how to stop it from being devastating lol

Basically this time I'm not doing the same as i used to, Im leading to a 40 page website that at the bottom of each page has an optin for a free report.

I already have the follow up product and affiliate offer, all I need now is to figure out which networks to use apart from Google Adwords, to make this as suscessful as possible.

I haven't had a lot of luck with PPC myself, but I DO know that your main goal should be to get your visitors on your list.

So drive your PPC visitors to a squeeze page, get them on the list, and THEN sell to them. If you try to sell to them right away and they're not ready to buy, they'll click away and you've lost them (and your money) forever.

If you make it your goal to get them on your list (by driving them to a good squeeze page) with a great free offer, then you stand a much better chance of getting them on your list, which in turn affords you several opportunities to sell to them.

The trick is in testing to see which ads, keywords, placment and squeeze page offer works best. That's where you can lose a lot of money. And that's the part I haven't figured out yet.

You might think about having the optin above the fold so people will see it right off the bat.
If for what ever reason they don't get to the bottom they will never see the optin.

Generally it works well if you offer them an incentive for joining - ebook or something else free

Oh yes but Im wondering about which networks I can use etc. Everyone talks about Google this and Google that, but I'm looking to expand on what Google has to offer and let the campaign stretch wide and far in a short space of time to test the conversions and see if it's worth my while going the whole way with it, articles to it, etc etc.

I don't use PPC but if I did I would be reluctant to send traffic to a site set up the way you're suggesting.

In my opinion it would be best to send all of your paid traffic directly to a squeeze page where the only option for the visitors is to subscribe or leave.

It would be a shame not to retain as many of the visitors you can when you're paying for the traffic.

But as I said, I don't use PPC, so I could be off the mark.

Yeah, you definitely can. There are plenty of people who's whole business is based on sending paid traffic to a squeeze page.

I think you have to include a few additional pages on your site, though. For example, privacy policy, terms of use and about me.

As I said, I don't use PPC, the above is just what I understand to be the case.

Warrior jasonl70 is one that comes to mind when talking about this subject.

Maybe you can send him a pm?

I used PPC to grow list as well.

The sign up rate is higher when I used both squeeze page + lightbox pop-up. Before this, I sent traffic to my blog post + lightbox pop-up but not converting well.

    Hope you get the picture.

I used to drive traffic from google and get some success... however, it took some time for me, However, if you offer anything free, there will be more visitors.,
For an example: Something free for first 25 orders etc... Once you get just get reviews and update it, that will make the visitors more confident about your service or product... so, more business will be there.... :p

Google seems all well and good but I'm not looking for advice on Google alone. I need advice on how I get my ad on many different succesful networks.

So far I've found adbrite which seems to have a good reputation, but can't see any others out there, that are well hyped and talked about.

So there is google and adbrite but what else is there?

      Thanks

I've just started using CPC on Facebook, it's getting subscribers for me on my squeeze page, but I am not sure whether my opt in rate (after clicking through on my ad) is considered high

After they sign up, hit them with a OTO and when they click the email confirmation give them another discount offer as well as the free report. Don't waste the opportunity as at this moment, they are HAAAWWWTTTT

You must have a Contact Us page and Privacy Policy on your squeeze page or it will kill your Quality Score and thus your Cost Per Click
