With all the hosts in existence, what's the reasoning behind wanting to use hosting labeled as "SEO"?

I haven't ever been able to come up with a good reason to go with SEO hosting, even after purchasing multiple accounts earlier in my career. It's got bad news written all over it.

There are plenty of bad experiences to be found. Search for "SEO hosting deindexed" and you'll find enough to keep you busy for the rest of the day.

Find reseller hosting that doesn't label itself as "SEO" hosting. That's all "SEO Hosting" is, a reseller account being marketed to SEOs.

If I was Google and needed to keep the propaganda machine moving, I'd jump onto "SEO" hosts, find all the sites sharing the IPs and nameservers, set them to manual review, and start knocking them out one, by one. Name it after some zoo animal.

As with any hosting provider. The biggest key comes down to the IP being used. Does it have bad reputation behind it? Similar to domains...

I'd just make sure all of your IP's are in different C-Classes, and the IP's are all clean.

SEO hosts provide no SEO value. The name "SEO Host" is total bullshit and completely misleading. They do nothing that has a thing to do with SEO. All they do differently is provide multiple IP addresses and servers for multiple domains under the same account. They generally attract people building networks because they like the idea of having a bunch of domains hosted under the same account. The problem is that Google knows this and has been targeting them heavily for almost 4 years now.

There is zero reason to use an "SEO host".

Outside of the companies that use "black hat" techniques, most of the bad situations I've seen or heard about with SEO hosting come from poor planning and not setting appropriate expectations between client and provider. It's important to remember that SEO hosting should be just one part of your overall SEO strategy and that it's important to find a provider that can explain this and work with you to put your business in the best position to succeed.

No. What Mike F. said above is correct. There's no "SEO" in hosting, that's just BS. There's a bunch of very mundane technical details that can help your site, but nearly any host out there should be able to do that stuff.

If you're risking your pages by hosting them with a service that tries to cater this sort of "SEO" crowd... Well, you're a moron in my books. There's a risk involved when the digital "neighborhood" is a bad one.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?
