1. First of all, I hope that you target a less competitive keywords.
2. Focus on content. Create 500 - 1000 words per post.
3. Just how old your blog is? For some keywords it takes a few months to get ranked.
4. Get backlinks from high quality sites. If you want it faster, try PBN. But don't get too many backlinks per day or you might get caught by G. http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors...-per-post.html

  Most of the tips are covered in previous replies. I will just share how to do the promotion of your blog. Share your content in the content curation sites. Upon regular usage and strong profile in these kind of sites, you will get better traffic for your blog. Posting about your blog in social media can get much more traffic. You can write a follow up post for your blog content in social media or forums and link your blog content. Try to acquire back links, you can build both do-follow and no-follow back links.

1.Focus on creating a good and quality content with low competition but higher demand with the user

2.Do some content promotion if possible

3.Avoid building irrelevant backlinks

4.Try to optimize images and add some keyword if you have images in your post.

5.Try to share your content in social media especial in google+ and others.

6.If possible ping the keyword in your post and add some anchor text.

There are many ways you can generate clean and genuine traffic for your website. Following are some of them:
1) Start a Facebook group that drives traffic to your site.
2) Start a blog on your website.
2) Write great quality content and share it through Social media.
3) Share your contents on StumbleUpon.
4) Be an active member on forums and blogs. Respond to posts.
5) Answer relevant questions posted on Yahoo and Quora.
6) Send attractive monthly emails to a database.
