      1. Your issue is less content - I can see merely 26 posts.

      2. Use a SEO plugin to help you target your local audience. Keep an close eye on what they are researching and make a list of keywords you would like to use. Use Google Analytics.

      3. The layout of the website needs improvement (see the rest of the points below). The theme is horrible - change it.

      4. Put 'popular' categories in the 'Navigation' widget.

      5. I went to your 'About Us' page to learn more about you. Guess what I found?
Nothing. Brainstorm on what type of audience you want to target. If it's the college folks, make it more 'real' for them by giving them start-up business advice or mentioning online freelancing opportunities through your posts. If you have decided to keep the 'About Us' page, make it more 'targeted' while understanding who are targeting to.

      6. Put categories/ topic on your main menu and put the 'privacy policy', 'about us', 'contact us', 'write for us' and 'advertisement' pages in the footer.

      7. Collegereap is targeting Nigerian people. Personalize it by using colors of the flag or trendy colors which the college people like there.

      8. Give a free report to increase your subscribers. Remove 'JOIN OUR MAILING LIST TODAY' - it sucks. Keep them engaged from time-to-time because your audience is young and would love to read entertainment-related content. Link to videos more often.

      9. You are ranking well on the KW 'musty smelling urine liver disease'. It seems that your country people are interested to know the cure of some popular diseases. Create a health section of 'Disease Awareness' to generate further engagement.

      10. No backlinks. There are plenty of ways to do it (search the forum again). The 'Write for Us' is one of the strategies but it does not give a clear 'motive' as to why would someone would be interested to write for YOUR site. Give them some reasons and how would it help them if they write for you.

      11. Your content is screaming for 'relevant images'. Use better quality images and if you are targeting college people then the website has no engagement value for them. Images, videos, graphs, memes, .gifs are all engagement. Use them as much as possible BUT they should be relevant.

      12. Ever thought of branding your website? Time to do it now.

You can pick any free theme but it has to be light and mobile responsive.

Search 'free mobile responsive WordPress themes' and thousands will appear in front of you.

Without the URL, it's difficult to provide help or advice.

There are many reasons why a blog would fail to get traffic. Maybe it's the topic -- not one that many people are interested in or looking for. Maybe it's the content -- not well written, not informative, not good quality. Maybe it's the design of the site. Maybe the site is not getting promoted or "liked" through social sites such as Facebook. Maybe it's not getting quality backlinks because other sites don't see it as being worthy of mention. Maybe your site doesn't stand out in all the competition that exists the site. Maybe it's not getting updated regularly. Maybe ..........

What have you been doing to promote this blog? That would certainly help. Better to provide clear analytics so we can help you...

Also, not to rain on your parade here but I am always drawn to the writing (I just am) and you could definitely get an editor for your content. I am guessing you write this yourself.

This means you haven't read the forum rules. Better read them now. After doing this, search the forum by using the search bar at the top. Here:

You need to start building high quality backlinks to it. If you think just throwing up content is going to be good enough to compete then you have another thing coming!

    It takes consistency and patience!

      Hi TotalWebsiteControl,

I had followed few of the ways blogger uses to build backlink during my first year but discovered that, as soon as I stopped going by that way, the website stopped getting refer traffic and I never can tell whether the site was hits by search engine as well and which I had to change the URL but still not working.

Now that you have added your URL, let's dig into it:

In terms of traffic and backlinks you have build a solid ground for yourself. Since mid of July, you have been able to increase the unique visitor rate so I'm not sure why you are so worried about it.

You just need to scale it up and for this you need to add/ edit some things on your blog:

    For increasing traffic:

1- Add more categories and sub-categories. This will help Google to send more visitors your way.

2- Kindly categorize the amazon affiliate product links. You have two choices:
    i) Remove them from the website completely and send them as offers to your e-mail list.
ii) Make a separate page for them and categorize accordingly.

3- Experimenting with the blog titles. Really, I got bored in less than 30 secs while going through your 'How-to' posts. Change them and add more fun into them eg. 'Did you know...', '10 Top Ways...', 'The Ultimate Secret of ___', so on and so forth.

4- Use colors! The fact that you are not happy with your unique visitor count is because you are not providing something new or showing something engaging to your visitors. Add more engagement (videos, images, memes, .gifs) within your posts.

5- Find guest blogs. Now is the right time for you.

6- You are only targeting Nigeria and a little Hungary. Why not the rest of the world? If you intent to target Nigeria only and want to scale it up, you should be investing in advertising. Google, Facebook and YouTube ads are good to start with.

7- You can increase engagement by writing lengthy and to-the-point reviews. I have gone through some of your smartphone reviews and they are incomplete. Add more information like 'Product Specifications', 'Accessories', 'Color choices', etc.

8- Make videos of product reviews which you have already written and upload on YouTube. Again, be as detailed as possible - the whole point is to provide a complete review to your Nigerian audience.

9- Branding is building identity. If you want Nigeria to remember you and keep visiting again and again - create a brand. By this I mean, creating a logo, branding your website and social media plus newsletters (not required but test it out).

    Other changes:

1- Add an opt-in box. Now, this will not 'increase' your traffic but would help you to create a better e-mail list.

2- For clarity, change the name of 'Contribution' page to 'Write for Us'.

    3. Add 'Earnings Disclaimer' or 'Affiliate Disclaimer' page.

    4. Add the 'Privacy Policy' page and 'sitemap' - if you haven't already.

    5. Don't underestimate the 'Footer' section. Use it.

    Best of luck!

    Hi,

Thanks SMworkcafe You concluded everything here. Another thing you can try to get some traffic is to by email outreach. Do one thing try to collect some email addresses but must be interested to your category or post. in first mail just ask them if they want to read or not. Then just mail the link of your blog.

Change the location of social media and post frequently by changing title & images for the post. Simply if you are not that much in marketing, try to participate in Forum and blog discussion.

But before all this things try to improve look and feel of your website and implement suggested things suggested by other member's here.
