You can use this tool- https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner for researching best keyword.

Always try to select keyword with low competition but have more search monthly.

If your blog is new you can select long tail keyword for getting rank well in the SERPs.

    Hope this help you!

Use long tail pro premium version. It will also show you keyword competition, title competition and some other useful data to make your keyword research easy.

If you can spend money use Long Tail Platinum, its used by most pros,
and features it provides saves you lot of time (and money in the long run ).

To all those recommending Google Keyword Planner, I'm sure that you know that it's a good tool for finding keywords, but it doesn't help much when it comes to determining competition.

Google keyword planner is a useful tool for searching keywords for your adsense account, but it does not shows ranking of keyword as google's previous keyword tool does show. There is no perfect tool that could show the actual traffic on it. I think long tailed keywords should also be used for making sense more clear.

I think that Google's Keyword Planner is a good place to start. I like to follow up with Traffic Travis. It's an excellent tool with lots of bells and whistles. Best of all it's FREE.

I recommend using SECockpit. It's not free and it is for the more season SEO however to me Keyword Research is the single most important part of any SEO campaign. To do it properly for any business you should be allocating 1 - 2 days as a minimum. If you use SECockpit it just shortens this time frame by allowing you to automate the KWR. It picks up all data from the Keyword planner, Google Suggest and Google related searches but also provides an in-depth competition analysis of every keyword and the top competitors you need to compete with. Highly recommend this and has completely changed the way I run any SEO campaign now.

    Here is the short guide
    How to find low-competition keywords

There are many ways... You can simply steal your competitors keywords and these keywords will be super relevant to your niche. You just need to sort them with the keyword difficulty n start using from low to high. And you can text unlimited niches with a cheap semrush account

run from Google keyword planner if you want to find low competition

using those search numbers is just eye candy for everyone else

you will never have consistency using the Google data other than keyword generation because your competing against the world's millions and millions people doing the same

so the definition of insanity applies here

doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results this is what you do using Google Planner

not saying you can't find good keywords in keyword planner but there are better ways and you must think out of the box to do this

Enough recommendation for Google keyword planner ... Are you really think it is best.

What is the truth is every keyword research tool is better then GKP
For example check any game name "Hockey" in GKP and you will not get a single popular hockey player or stadium or league(I don't know much about hockey)

And for Semrush it is as simple as ABCD.... Find a popular site and put it in and you will get all keywords related to hockey ... now sort them either by keyword difficulty or CPC or Monthly searches or whatever you want

And ahrefs is more then powerful then that,It is really costly and i bought that in a group buy and that was my best month in seo.. I started 3 niche sites and collected enough data. well, it is not a question. You must think out of the box to find and learn the other useful tools.
