I am hearing all this stuff about adsense and I am wondering how you make good money off of it. I have been using it for over 2 weeks and have made 5 bucks. What am i doing wrong?

    Hard to say without more details. How much traffic are your ads seeing? Little traffic would be little income. Also depends on what keywords your targeting, so pay more than others, some pay much more. Another thing might be the quality of your traffic. You could be chasing keywords that just don't pay or convert? Or where you ad placement is, ect, ect.

    First build your traffic... PLR content would do the trick (just frequently add private label content to your site that's relevant to your niche)

    Once you get to that stage you'll be able to toy with ad placements, colors, sizes, etc., but with little traffic you can't possibly make a lot of adsense revenue.

    Also, your click revenues will depend on the niche and keywords. For example, adsense ads in the weight loss or internet marketing industry would give you higher revenues per click than other smaller niches.

    what is your adsense site about? The niche is a huge factor in how much you will make. I have a few sites that make $5 a day from 20 visitors, but the nihces pay over $2 per click on average

        You have chosen one of the most competitive fields. How can you make money from it if you don't know much about it?

        Choose a better niche - otherwise you are going to spend 2 years driving traffic to a site you know nothing about and get clicks of 20 cents or more.

        They are right on. You need to pick a solid niche, look for PLR (Private Label Rights) content related to that niche, and focus on traffic, traffic, and more traffic. Use some content for submitting to article directories, get active in forums, do social bookmarking, etc. Look into financial type niches like investing and real estate. Like they said stay away from make money online niches, but focus on insurance and financing type niches. Weight loss is another huge niche. Hope that helps. I have one Adsense website in a very obscure and small niche within real estate that gets a few clicks here and there, but the clicks payout $2 or more often times.

    The IM niche does pretty bad for Adsense since most people know what the ads are and avoid them.

    If you can stick to the financial, credit, mortgage,insurance niches and you will make money fast. I have one site I made $4.69 from yesterday a few clicks and two visitors!! Total for the day yesterday was $35.71

      Yes, your niche matters a lot on adsense publishing.Maybe you should look go for niche like insurance,real estate.That's what i do,even if i get just a click,that could be average of $1.5.

      Try something else if you want and look for ways to drive traffic.

    So what do you expect in mere two weeks thousand bucks ?? You should also mention whats the niche of your website. If this is related with some celebrity than 5 bucks is good enough ... if you want to get the sugggestion that you should also provide all relevant details to us.

    Man this is web business and you need to give some time to get into the rhythm. Just create quality backlinks and original contain

    I make a lot monthly off adsense on my websites and did not make a thing on them for awhile so here is my tips in order of what you need to do.

    1. Get traffic, because making money on adsense is about how much traffic you are getting, period!

    2. Optimize your ads. Find out where people are going to click the ads the most and put your ads there.

    3. Once your traffic gets high look into CPA advertisement as well for more money. Since adsense allows only three units you should be able to find one more spot for this.

    Overall what you need is traffic and you get that through good marketing and great content.

    I agree with CaptiveReef. It's all about the niche.

    Two of my sites are in similar but unrelated niches. Both use the same exact theme and ad placement yet they are on completely opposite sides of the earnings spectrum. The higher revenue site receives maybe 1/10 of the traffic as the other.

    The formula is simple = Find a specific need, question or problem - determine that the niche is not overly saturated - if not, build a quality site that specifically addresses it - post original material at regular intervals - promote your posts - build strong quality back links - let Adsense do the rest.

    In other words, Adsense is the last thing to work on, not the first.

      If you have not done anything related to internet business, I'd say $5 in 2 weeks with adsense is quite good. But like all things, it'll take some time before you'll really make money with it.

      With adsense, you'll need good traffic, high paying niche and visitors who are desperate to know more.

      Just give them enough info to entice them to find out more/take action (i.e to click on the ads). If your articles tell them everything, they'll go away without clicking your ads.

    Really you need about 40 articles to get consistent traffic, if you have a modest CTR of 5% then you only need 20 visitors for one click in a high paying niche to make $1 a day. Times it be 20 or 30 sites and you are on your way.

    A trick i do is to use the two links in my article marketing resource box to link to 2 different sites i own in the same niche. It kinda maximizes your article marketing because the visitor may like one site over the other.

    It is still possible to make money with adsense in the IM niche. But it takes lots of traffic to make above 1K per month. It took me almost a year of continuos articles submission and more than 500 articles before seeing this amount.

    Nothing is impossible. As long as you are willing to put in the hard work, it will pay in the end. But in the IM niche, if you can give free reports and useful information, it can perform the tricks too. There are a lot gurus here in the IM niche and I am sure they are making more than the 1K target. Hang around here in the forum and read around and learn what they do.

    adsense is an easy way to make money online especially for beginners, but it demands some effort. To start with you must have quality contents on your site or Blog then concentrate your efforts on driving traffic to your site.

    1. Pick a subject that interests you
    2. Build your web site, taking into account the location of your Adsense units (refer to the Adsense heat map)
    3. Gradually build on your content. Make sure it's useful content
    4. Promote / link build - if you're site is good, others will link to you
    5. Be patient - you won't get rich quick!

      yes we had the same problem with adsense we we're now focusing on article marketing & writing articles so hopefully this will help build traffic & lots of other things like blog posting, forums, soical sites..all work, just try had & it will get u there.
