And the first answer is complete BS. Traffic has NOTHING to do with Pagerank.

Pagerank is Google's internal metric that deals with backlinks. A site will get a sort of cumulative score for every page, and Google determines part of the popularity from that score. They don't show Pagerank publicly any more, but as far as anyone can tell it's still a major part of the system.

Page rank is google’s system for ranking web pages. A page with a higher page rank is deemed more important and is more likely to be listed above a page with a lower page rank.
Every website is given a google page rank score between 0 and 10 on an exponential scale.

Page rank show us rank of the site in google ranking between 0 to 10. Zero is the lowest rank and 10 is the highest rank.

Pagerank is dead:

PageRank data removed from Webmaster Tools.
PageRank has not been updated in ~20 months.
PageRank never was added to Chrome.
Matt Cutts says he’d be surprised if PageRank was updated again.
Matt Cutts says the PageRank “pipeline” is broke, and Google isn’t interested in fixing it.
PageRank became leverage for spammers, and Google knows it.

Page rank is link analysis algorithm, it is measured out of 10. if your website page rank is 9 out of 10, it will come at top of google easily.

But you should agree that google page rank's importance these days isn't everything. It means only something for those who are SEO pros. However, for me google page rank isn't everything, for example I start analysing website's statistics through different tools such as moz/spyfu etc.

Googles page rank algo haven't been updated and probably will never be updated again.

No. The publicly visible scores haven't been updated for almost two years. That doesn't mean that the algorithm has changed, and everything seems to work pretty much the same as before.

According to Google in late 2013, and the numbers were fairly often fake. So you know, do not read that as Google's word on popularity.

This is the good step taken by google to disabled its own page rank bar. I advice google that the page rank bar must be disabled for lifetime. It is useless. It has already opened one business of buy sell links according to the page rank. The higher the page rank the more valuable links are.

There are more important SEO metrics than Page Rank now. For example, Mozrank, PA (Page Authority), DA (Domain Authority) etc are more accurate metrics of a website's strength.
