I have a few sites which are stuck at #3 and 4 for months. These are medium competitive keywords.

I was trying to get #1 but so far no luck. Please share some advice.

Thanks

Try to analyze your competitors abit more, run those #2 and #1 website through some (on-page) SEO-Scans, write down results, their + and - sides. Check their keywords ratio's. Check their backlink's and copy/manipulate/exploit those. Do the same with the number #6 and #7 websites that rank lower then you to see if you have missed something that could give you a little boost.

There are free tools that allow you to see what are the backlinks of your competitors. One of them is through the Bing Webmaster tools. Try to create more backlinks from them using their linking websites as well as new ones.

Firstly, analyze competitor backlink for keyword they are rank high. Accordingly, to that plan your content marketing strategies. There are many paths to ranking for a keyword, which are:
    • A blog post
    • Video
    • Social Media
    • Through discussion community
