I like Keyword Researcher - I've been using it for several years now. I think it's similar to Long Tail Pro. I think both basically work off the Google autosuggest tool.

On the downside too many people are using these tools so everyone is writing articles based around these suggestions...

Why don't you want to use google keyword Planner?
Alternatevaly, when you type a keyword into Google at the bottom of the first page Google gives you a list of other search terms people are using to search for that keyword
