Why do you think you need a redirect?

Anytime you mess with a URL/redirect it's a 50/50 gamble as far as holding a ranked position on the SERPs.

If you need a redirect fine but make sure it's your last option & practice 301/302 redirects on a test domain that doesn't matter before messing up a money site/page.

Search on Google for "htaccess 301 redirect" and you will find several guides
