Which url to Backlink For Wordpress Blog

If I have a blog that is at my main domain name with "/blog" at the end

Should I be backlinking my main domain name
or
the url of the blog home page
or
the individual blog posts?

I know I should be doing all three, but which ones should I focus more on?

    Link back to whichever location is relevant for the place from which you're linking.

    So if you're on a social site and you have an article on your blog that explains or clarifies a subject under discussion link directly to it.

    If you're setting up a profile on a social site my inclination would be to link to your blog, but you need to decide whether your main site would be more relevant.

    Link to your main url... Provide quality comments and readers will click on your link and come read more about you.

    You also really want to watch your headlines, because when you make comments on people's blogs that have comment luv installed your most recent posts headline is also shown. But that's a good thing..

      Your going to want to deep link..meaning backlink all the pages of your blog..especially your post pages because if you are doing your longtail keyword research right then if you backlink those pages they should rank very high and gets you lots of free traffic...targeted traffic! good luck! -Mike Linley
