Edit Current Page or Make New One?

Hello Warriors,
I have a page on a site that ranks relatively well but we have a need to implement a new keyword/s.

I have updated the page with keywords, page title, etc. but I did not change the slug or H tags.

My question is, Would it be better for SEO to change this current page with all updates or would it make more sense to build another page on the site with the correct keywords?

The current page is Infrared Asphalt Repair Potholes, Driveways | HOLES Solutions
There is a need to increase our rankings for the keyword/s related to Infrared Asphalt Repair NJ.

Do I change the current /asphalt or should I make a new /infrared-asphalt-repair-nj?

Thank You In Advance for Your Help

Alternatively, would it be better to make this page a subpage of /asphalt?
    EX: http://www.holessolutions.com/asphal...halt-repair-nj

I think you should adjust your current and make a new which has related content to make your website more interesting.

The information is essentially identical. Before, we just didn't focus on the infrared asphalt part and just asphalt in general.

Actually you have both option open from SEO point of view. You can do some modification on current page like changing h1 tag, litte modification on body text. By doing these you can easily target this new keyword. At the same time you can also create a completely new page for this keyword.

Target ting new page will also help you target new city in future by adding another similar new page with more fresh content. If I were in your position I would create a new page instead of modifying the current page, so I can get more relevancy advantage.

    1) Don't overthink it
    2) Just edit the page (see #1)
    3) Get rid of the directory link at the bottom of the page

In my opinion, i suggest you set up a new page because your old page is not the same theme, but as for your old page rank relatively well, so you can make a link between pages.

Based on everything here, I'm going to keep this page and edit it/ have edited it. The other page would have been a near duplicate anyway and made some improvements...will be making more. thank you all

If you replace keywords, you'll go down in rankings for whatever you're ranking for now.

If you add content, you may be able to rank for the new keywords and still rank for the old ones.

Smartest way, make a new page for the new keyword, link from it to the existing page using the right anchor text (one of your new keywords). Create backlinks for the new keywords to both pages.

You'll end up ranking 2 pages for the same keyword without damaging your current rankings (if you execute well).

I would just adjust your old page so it's updated but that it's still the same page.
