Google Business Listing Help

Hi guys

I have a local business that used to appear in the top 5 Google local business listings for certain keywords. Since Google changed their list to showing only 3, my listing no longer appears.

I have since had a phone call from a company that charges £99 a month to place my listing into the top 3 positions. I've always been pretty skeptical of these types of companies.

Is there a way that I could push the position up myself?

Thank in advance.

In my opinion , you should start getting reviews about your business on Google listing. The more reviews, the higher ranking you get.

Maybe. Every situation is different. If you are up against competitors who care about customer service, and properly collect reviews and can outspend you, it is very tough. However chances are that your competitors don't do everything perfectly. Try hard to get lots of really good reviews, and to get good articles written about your business on real newspapers ' web sites that can be syndicated through PR sites. A lot of the free PR sites may not give good results unless you are very knowledgable so you may have to pay for that part (and I would expect to pay more than $99 each time).

Thanks for your messages guys. One of my competitors has only 5 reviews (i have way more) and is listed as position 1.

In regards to PR sites, would I have any links in the PR articles linking to the google business listing or to my website directly?

Do you upload images and videos? All of them? Are they geotagged, have description, etc? Is your google page complete?

      Do you have correct citations?

Are there discrepancies between your website and your Google page?

Are you located in the city you used to rank?

I have images but not videos.

        They have descriptions.

        My google page is complete.

I am located in the city that I used to rank for.

        What are citations?

What do you meant by discrepancies between your website and your Google page?

        Thank you.
