    Hey SnackMemory,

If you're looking for homepage traffic I think Solo ads would be a great way to go for you.

Just remember when you drive traffic collect their email address so you can stay in touch

If you're looking to rank try getting some high quality backlinks & try adding some more effective keywords, and time also is a big part in ranking high.

    Hope this helps

    Adam

Optimize your homepage for some related keyword with decent search volume.
And then use SEO techniques to get your homepage ranked for that keywords.
It will take some time, but will give you long lasting returns.

    Hey, SnackMemory.
If you're relatively experienced with SEO, begin by establishing what you want your homepage to get ranked for. What's the main keyword? It looks like your site is about snacks. That's a pretty broad keyword, so try to narrow that down. Use Google AdWords to find a versions of "snacks" with between 1,000 to 15,000 people searching for it a month and at least a million to five million pages already cataloged when you search for it.
The day will come when you can get more ambitious with your keyword, but for now, try to get ranked to something as similar to "snacks" as possible.
Now, get that keyword on your homepage, but don't go nuts. Two or three times is fine. You already have plenty of info on there about different snacks, but I'd add to all of those too.
Alright, that may have been common sense, so let's move onto backlinks.
Look for blogs about cooking, snacks, etc. and ask to guest post for them. You could cover the history of a certain snack of provide a recipe. I'm sure you have some ideas. Ideally, you want a blog where each post is getting at least 10 comments. It's always better to get a backlink and some actual traffic than just the former and nothing more.
Find forums about the same topic where you're allowed to use your website in your profile and start covering ground there too. Don't be spammy or make it obvious you're trying to get traffic. Legitimately help people out.
Obviously, you can use social media pages for backlinks. Given your site's topic, I'd think Pinterest could give you some decent traffic + backlinks.
Finally, get a blog on your site and start doing some listicles. "5 Ways to Add Butterfingers to Your Desserts", "3 Awesome Treats that Include Frankenberry", etc. Throw those out on social media and, hopefully, you'll get them shared and enjoy the backlinks that go with them. Add photos for best results.
    Hope this helps!

This post is confusing and because the site has the most link juice but doesn't even rank. Would you mind to explain what is Link Juice for you? This is to clarify some important things in this thread.

My home page is one of the most heavily linked to pages on my site from external sources. It gets no search engine traffic.

My other pages on my site are more optimized for keywords, and they get traffic. Most of my pages rank on the first page of google for there chosen keywords.

My home page on the other hand, despite it having a good link profile and good creditability, it fails to rank for anything. I am not even sure if I should, or what is the best way to convert my home page to attract search engine traffic from a key word phrase.

your homepage title says snack memory and you rank #1 for that word. don't see a problem. Start with changing the title if you want to rank for something else.

My first thought is why? To me the purpose of a homepage is purely a gateway page to allow people to navigate around your website. If you are selling a product or service on your website you want people landing on the most relevant pages of your website so they are given the information they originally looked for. If you are getting good traffic and rankings for your internal pages then over time your entire domain will gain more authority.

If you do have some keyword themes that you have identified from extensive keyword research that will work well with the home page then I would start by doing effective on page optimisation with title tags, h1 - h4 tags, meta description, image alt tags, anchor text, internal linking, image compression, schema mark up and good quality content. Then given a lot of your internal pages are generating traffic and assumably ranking well within them where you think it will add value to the reader use some effective keyword specific anchor text to link back to the homepage. This should get you started! If the competition is high for the terms you are trying to appear for you may need to put more effort into mixed media with content from video, audio, articles, infographics etc and provide enough value to earn some high quality backlinks to the home page.

Search Engine Optimizing can be categorize into two types White hat and Black hat. One must understand about the differences between both. You need to keep eye on Onpage and Off page SEO. If you are doing well then definitely your home page and internal page get some good position and ranked well. But keep in mind always select White hat for long term success.
