I own a website in an extremely extremely competitive niche. the name of the game is getting high authority backlinks. i've heard the way to go is through guest posting. i've come up with a few great post ideas that a lot of sites would say yes to... but where do i go from here? i have a few questions.
you want to save the super epic articles for the top tier blogs right? no sense in wasting epic content on lower tier sites right? an ideal situation is that i get on as a contributor for a top blog. is it possible to be a contributor without a website.... even if you have ideal content to offer? i know that becoming a contributor is sort of a back door game and you have to do certain things to get in the door... lets say that I create a couple good articles on a top tier blog and on the third article i write an epic article with a casual backlink to my site. what if they remove the backlink to my site and think of it as spam? then all of that work was for absolutely nothing.
Also... if i shoot for a lower tier blog and submit my content and its very epic and they accept it, but they remove my backlink and publish the article. Then i'm out one of my epic articles and it doesnt even have a backlink..... lots of major work for nothing again.

long story short...... I have epic epic content that blogs would love and its ideal for me because i can casually backlink and build seo. how do i get this epic content out there and make sure that i get the most traction possible out of it?

I already tried this once as a buzzfeed community member. I wrote an insane epic article that was perfect for buzzfeed format. i made SURE that it was of buzzfeed's standard. I included a casual backlink only to find out that they auto insert no follow codes on all of their community articles. I was mad, but oh well... I could still get traffic from it. Submited the article and the buzzfeed page didn't get any traffic because nobody from buzzfeed even looked at it.

i've got epic content guys. i'm really frustrated with what to do.

Guest Posting will help you to bring real organic Traffic. At the time of guest posting you must use highly traffic sites so that your article reach to huge audiences.

I couldnt agree with you more Jammy. All you have to do is for instance search on google for blogs that accept guess post and contact them with your post. But make sure that are targeted to your niche.

I have faced some situations like this. You have an epic content but you doesn't have a contributor profile in a top blog/website. you end up posting your content in a site that accepts your article.

I have come out well in these kind of situations. All that you to do is never give up and never compromise. Request more number of sites for a guest post opportunity. Give some piece of your guest post, so that they will come to know the quality and audience reach for the post. Always send a simple pitch and ask them to give a do-follow back link.

Steven is right, you must ensure you request a dofollow link in return for your quality content, and broaden your search, there are many platforms out there that have high authority looking for your sort of work. Guest posting has been proven and as long as your posts contribute well and are relevant to the topic you'll get the traffic you need along with the high authority backlink. It's a slow game that requires patience, another tactic is to use what's known as the moving man method found here, it's an effective way of helping someone get rid of outdated links and asking subtly for them to consider using your content in return.
