Help With Citations and Ranking Locally?

Hey,

My brother has a small electrical contracting company here in the UK, I've recently been trying to hep him rank better and show up in the 3 pack. I did some analysis of the competition and seen they all had less than 100 citations.

So I decided to build around a 150 citations (which I outsourced) this was about 2 weeks ago, I did a search using whitespark and only 4 citations show up, does google have to index them before the'll show?

I understand SEO is a slow process and does take time, I'm just needing clarifications on how citations work and if they should show immediately or not.

    Maybe setup a Google Alert, let Google notify you when they find your citation footprint.

    You can also search footprints directly on Google SERPs.

    Its been some time now. How has your brothers website done with these citations? Has he arrived safely in the top three?
