Ranking online tools with few pages

I'm building and have built several single page tools for web developers to use, however they are proving extremely difficult to rank in Google, and social marketing with these sort of tools is tricky.

I've seen several online tools that rank extremely highly in Google - but without thousands of words of unique copy or mulitple pages of useful content. Does anyone know how these kind of sites (or "apps" you might call them) rank?

    Many pathways to God.

Pick one of these high-ranking pages and analyze is... Look at onpage, run through maestic seo or ahrefs or any other such tool to see what kind of backlinking they have.

The do what they did + 1 more link.

So you think it's all down to backlinks? I didn't think backlinks matter so much anymore...

I said, do what those people did, just a bit more of it.

I am ranking with nothing else, so why would I not think it's about backlinks?

The value of backlinks is definitely dropping, but they are still important. I’d say the main thing is in a content they have.

Nowadays Google take ranking precedence to bigger sites so add more pages. Few pages won't help.

Then how do these single page tools and apps rank into the millions (and they do)? It is ALL down to backlinks, ignoring all other SEO conventions?

The tools that you see ranking on top positions are patented or just created and made open to use?

Isn't it obvious? They're not ranking... You must be hallucinating...

Content is king and big sites rank and if you see anything that indicates otherwise, it's not true.. Because they've made up their mind otherwise... Simpler than reality.

And, if you've made up your mind, you never have to check anything... So much less work...

I outrank zillow, among others... My site has 30+ pages and posts... Zillow has millions...

        How come?

Clearly I'm hallucinating. I'm also hallucinating when I get calls from outranking such sites and when my ranking makes me money.

Similarweb says well over 1,200,000 uniques per month for a one page tool that only web developers use. Very real..

The first thing is to make sure your page is well optimized for search engine. After that, try to get high pr backlinks together with social signals to your page. With this simple trick, your site will rank well on google.
