    try to rank some keywords.
the first step is do some keyword research -> google keyword-planer
find some good keywords and do some onpage seo after that build some links.
    there you go.

Sorry, but there were no tactics. Well, someone suggested keyword research which would be a good start.

Do your research on niche and competition. It's possible that it's an impossible task wether or not you go for long tail.

Try to find an audience. You know, people who are interested in your content and willing to follow your updates. This is very hard.

No. There are no tactics in this thread, just generic one-liners.

What are you doing? What's the situation with your site?

For getting more traffics for your webpages you should rank your keywords. Also you can start SMM & SMO to get traffic as well.

        Innit, though?

I read it and felt like people must have felt when Einstein walked into the room (after he came up with the theory of relativity).

It doesn't mean that your site is on top listings in Google search it will get more traffic. Visitors are smarter than you think and they are hungry for new and interesting information related to their query. So make your site as a unique provider and benefits them in many ways.

Well, first, google needs to know if your site is related to the searcher's query. Domain names, titles and keywords on your page tells google this.

Then, it ranks you according to your longevity and 'trusted' backlinks.

Finally, it tells if people like your website by looking at their average site visit length, clickthrough rate and bounce rate. If people jump out of there like a jew who stumbled upon a room full of gestapos, google notices and will demote your page's ranking for that particular keyword.

So, get keywords. Get trusted backlinks. And, whatever you do, make sure the visitor clicks to go to another page on your site before they press the back button to go back to google. Do what it takes. Interesting content, manipulation, dangle a carrot, whatever. Google's blind to emotions, but it's not blind to bounce rates and visit duration.

I was ranking for two keywords. I noticed that one of my keywords, which was amply relevant to the user's search intent, had my page stay at the top of the search. The other keyword, which was related to it but not nearly as much as competing sites (3.99 is cheap for my product, not as cheap as the much simpler .99 kinds that other sites sell), dropped off the front page within 2 days.

The part about clickthrough rates and bounce rate has nothing to do with ranking.

On some sites, great bounce rate is what the owner wants... If I had an adsense site, for instance, I'd want all visitors to click on the first link...

Plus, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I leave webpages instantly,,, just to mess with people's bounce rates.

I'm betting you too leave webpages for reasons of your own, reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the webpage you had landed upon.

So, the question is: how does Google know you left because the webpage sucked and not because you had diarrhea?

Apart from keyword optimization your website should be trustworthy without suspicious backlinks.

I have a niche marketing site in a highly competitive industry, which is to say almost any industry nowadays...and I find that the stuff that works is really the simple stuff that you always hear.

But as Voltaire said, "Common sense is anything but common." People always want the "secret", but there really isn't one anymore. Google is smart.

What I find the easiest and best way to get your niche site ranked OVER TIME is to first off, build off the Wordpress platform. It's user-friendly and optimized for search engines.

Learn your target market, do your keyword research to find out how your target market interacts with search engines, and build your site based around information meant for those keywords.

In other words- there will be one main keyword (or a couple) that define your target market in Google's eyes (which gets 75% of all search traffic). So use that keyword and write about ideas and helpful information that fulfills whatever need, problem, or solution those people are looking for.

And that doesn't mean "keyword stuff" your pages or URL's. Just write naturally, study copy writing techniques, and use long tail keywords throughout your pages.

Then start finding all the free plugins you can to help optimize your site. Use a lot of pictures and optimize them correctly. And create fresh content every week, or at least every month.

Create social sites, share your stuff. And start getting traffic somehow, some way. There are thousands of ways to get traffic, and you need traffic to start getting your site recognized.

Index your site in any relevant directories, free listing sites, or whatever is relevant. (Like YP.com for example)

If you can share your stuff on other authority sites, then find ways to do that as well. Not always easy, but that's how you get a real backlinks.

Organic traffic is a long-term game. That's why you need real traffic strategies to help you get there.

Don't believe all this hype and nonsense about 1st page ranking softwares and tricks for overnight success. If you want to build an online business that ranks well, then you need to be willing to invest the time. Part of what Google looks at in trustworthiness of your site is how long it's been active and how many people have visited, so it's something that builds over time.

I've been running my site now for almost 3 years, get about 5,000 unique visitors a month mostly through organic traffic. But I also run paid ads and use social media, and used email marketing heavily in the beginning, as well as listing my site everywhere relevant I could find.

And that amount of traffic is a multiple 6-figures business in my niche, so the number of visitors doesn't have to be crazy high- depending on what you're selling, how effective your sales funnel is, and what your price point is.

There's a lot that goes into it, and you can really make it as complicated as you want. But I hope that perspective helps a little!

You, sir, seem to have put some thought and a lot of work into getting that kind of traffic.

Not to mention, you're talking strategy not just tactics.

That, sir, is just unacceptable. Rewrite your post, use the words 'bookmarking' and 'social signals' several times, and you'll have a lot of followers, you'll have a lot of people telling you you're awesome.
