Hey guys so i have been targetting low comp keywords using keyword revelaer (similar to LTP keywords) on a site with DA 15, TF 1 , CF 25...i think the problem is that my trust flow is really low or theyre all low in general..but i cant seem to rank for anything! the site is 10 years old and has 2k indexed links. Any tips on how i can finally start ranking??

You're wrong, none of those fake metrics (DA, PA, TF, etc...) will ever rank your pages.

Stop chasing fake numbers & build decent followed link profiles, otherwise you'll never rank a page.

This guy have given this great advice out a bunch of times.

Also it's pretty much impossible to give you any kind of answer without seeing your site. I don't suggest you reveal it here, but if it's a 10 years old, is a quality site, and has 2,000 quality links, then your "numbers" should be better than that. Something is off.

I'm going to guess that those backlinks are 99% junk and you have very few links of actual value.

I'm starting to feel that way to.. So should I disavow them or leave them be? The junk links.. And just focus on link building?

That's impossible to answer without seeing the links. Often the generic lousy links are not harmful even though they don't help.

It seems pretty safe to say that your 2k backlinks aren't helping you. And a site that is 10 years old is good - unless it hasn't been updated in 10 years, is rendered in Cold Fusion (anybody remember that POS?) or something else totally un-search engine friendly.

I assume that your site is indexed and currently gets some kind of traffic? And that you are making relevant content on a regular basis and that you aren't just a collection of ads and affiliate links?

As far as disavow goes, if you KNOW they are bad links (e.g., you bought them, traded for them, whatever) disavowal is a good strategy - but Google, it seems, is already ignoring most of them.

I'd bet my last nickel the disavow only ever existed for tricking webmasters that bought links into a panic attack & outing the link sellers backlink sources.

Google is all about collecting data, why code an algo when the webmasters will stand in line & beg you to take their crappy link profiles they've built solely for SEO.

People that don't do SEO could care less about disavow tools or backlinks so it's only used by people (SEOs) trying to game the SERPs. Fail.

Trust flow of only 1? Your site is probably penalized in some way, in my opinion anytime TF is less than half of CF you're highly vunerable to a penalty because that tells me (and the search engines) you've got a lot of links but they're all from crappy un-trusted sites, you need some trustworthy links!

Lol... Sorry, but Google does not hand out penalties based on TF. They don't look at that at all.

Probably some $5 PR9s & Pr10s in that TF somewhere.

There's a huge jump here that you don't really justify. Penalized? There's nothing here that would lead to that conclusion. "Not ranking because there's no good backlinks" is not the same thing.

As Mike pointed out - no, TF doesn't tell anything to Google. But you're right about this being something that OP should mind. Even though TF is a 3rd party metric at least Majestic's verdict is that the links are crap.

        Doesn't matter.

He's the same guy telling folks on other SEO forum threads that adding keywords to meta tags helps rank pages.

Usual blind leading the blind just to pimp out a WSO forum sig.

Its not how Google will love your website, but on how will your target audience will appreciate your site as a hub of information.
