I just made another website. Usually I would submit to search engines, add to feeds, maybe do some article marketing...

What do you do to get your new website indexed as fast as possible?

Submitting my rss feed to rss aggregators is the quickest and easiest way, IMO.

What do I do? Just put out some content. One of the absolute quickest ways is to create a video (not just any video, one that is valuable and has actionable content pertaining to your niche) and posting your link in the description. All together, videos are just really awesome and the big G loves 'em which is why I primarily focus on videos, the post them to my site/s.

Now, if you're more into blatant self-promotion, social bookmarking works very well to, however, if you do this repeatedly over a period of time, I'm sure the SE's will notice.

    • Create a few optimized pages, each with a particular keyword
    • Write an article for each of those pages, with a link back to the page with your desired anchor text
    • Submit RSS feeds for both the pages and your articles
    • Social bookmark both your articles and original pages
    That should do the trick.

I like Mike's idea. Videos uploaded to Youtube are indexed in just
    a few hours.

My latest one even made it to page 1 and position 1 in just a few days.

    Hope that helps.

Google expressly says not to submit your site. It usually gets indexed within a week. I would not be anxious to submit to them. You also get picked up by Yahoo, sometimes before Google, I think.

I agree that you could just put in some content and not worry. I would check in a week, though. Search: "siteyour site URL)" without the quotes. That will show you how many pages are indiexed for ANY site.

    Hope this helps.

Piggy-back on the free web2.0 properties that already have teh google love...

Get backlinks to your new website from established properties, like blogger, squidoo, eza, WF, etc... the list goes on and on...

That's what has worked best for me, for the quickest indexing anyways...

I never submit my sites to the search engines. I just start building backlinks and let the search engines find my sites on their own. Because I create backlinks from high PR authority sites, usually my sites are indexed within 24 hours.

I agree with TEO, Digg is a good way to go. In addition, if you can, try adding AdSense to the site at least temporarily, in my experience this has helped me get indexed faster.

Well I would too do most of the thing that you have already mentioned. First submit it to all major Search Engines and free web directories and add it to Social Bookmarking sites.

depending on how long it taks your host to send out the whois info. I simply ping the heck out of it using pingomatic pinggoat and pingmyblog. I also started a teaser adwords campaign just to get it started. Spnding only 20 for the traffic from google as a test run. By the time that 20$ ran out at google 3 days later I was indexed. This is all I do and I have gotten indexed on every site within a week. Well all but one but I have not been able to get it indexed at all through the search engines even with manual submissions. Oh and just so you know all of the ones I was able to get indexed with in the first week they where up. Each had a wordpress blog attached which also had an auto ping set up on it. So keep this in mind it really does not take much to get it indexed. Unfortanetly I am unable to use wordpress on the host to the site that is not indexed and I do not like the way fantacico works or looks.

I just wanted to stop by and let everyone know my theory does work. I just started another site late friday night aug 14 2009. Since I started it I did all the keyword research friday, bought the domain around 11 pm. I then built a quick sales/review page for multiple clickbank products. Took about a 4 hour nap. Then sat morning I started working on the blog and finished building the reviews page for the click bank products. I then built a quick slide show video and submitted it to multiple video sites. I checked again sunday morning and the site was already indexed. Also keep in mind I also social bookmarked the site to multiple bookmarking sites. So it really does not take as long as most think to get a site indexed. Everything depends on how fast your host sends out the domain information. I personally use dream host which if you use promo code twittered there you will save 40$ for one year of service. So if it only takes me 2 days to get indexed it means I get a chance to jump on any one who was trying to target the same niche.

Yeah, amazes me how people keep asking this.
Once someone says post the link in your sig here,
the case is closed. That is the fastest.

All the other responses are just other ways of
      getting indexed.

It really is that simple, folks! Why complicate things?

If you have a RSS feed just ping it on iPings. Google picks up new content/sites in about five minutes using that method.

A useful thread I think that getting a few high quality backlinks is the way forward. I submit my website and XML sitemap to Google webmaster tools too, but backlinks is the way to go IMO.

The fastest way to have any webpage or site visited by the search engines and indexed is by submitting them to any of the popular social book-marking sites like StumbleUpon, OnlyWire and others. I have had a brand new one-day old website visited by the Yahoo, Google and MSN search engine robots within 24 hours of submitting them to these social book-marking sites. I can categorically say that it is the best bait to attract the bots to your pages
