    DA and PA is metrics use by MOZ. It is basically use to rank website in terms of their backlinks quality and content quality. DA and PA will count from 0 to 100. PR is dead now.

      Publicly visible PR is not updated, but Google still uses this mechanism for ranking sites.

      Moz's metrics are not known for their accuracy, but they're fine for some purposes.

      DA and PA have nothing to do with content.

      Their attempt to measure backlink quality is based on their own database, which is sorely lacking.

    yes to all of the above

    I see MOZ knocked for accuracy all the time, thing is who else has a better metric to help define a sites authority

    if you look at the SERPs for as many pages as my software has you start seeing trends for how accurate those metrics really are

    as with any metric nothing is 100%, but at least they have made an attempt to make sense of authority values for the SERPs, until something else surfaces to replace them it's all we have

    my only advice is look at the data yourself and come up with your own conclusions, if you get advice test it first don't follow anyone blindly, including me without testing then you will know what to believe

    DA and PA are now the new metric for seeing how well search engines recognize a domain as Google has stopped PageRank now and no longer uses it as a metric, DA stands for domain authority and PA stand for page authority SEO Software, Tools and Resources for Better Marketing are the guys that made this metric. DA and PA will count from 0 to 100. High PA & DA means up to 50%

    And PR means PAGE RANK. PR will count from 0 to 10. High PR means up to 7.

      So, is a PR of 10 a low PR, then?
      How about a DA of 57?

      It seems to me that 10 is higher than 7 and 57 is higher than 50 and if they go to 10 and 100, respectively, you didn't think things through before posting.

    Domain authority is the authority of the domain..

    Page authority is the authority of the page itself.

    Page Rank is dead since oct 2013. Google is not updating it anymore for public use but they still updated it internally..So forget about PR as its useless nowadays and go with DA and PA.

      As Google does not PA and DA, by your logic they must be useless as well.

        I'm sure Google does not use PA or DA, this is a metric put together as a best attempt to understand how Google is ranking sites lately

        lots of discussion has floated around about the new changes and authority is one of them

        what's that exactly mean, it's anyone's guess

        I only use DA to give me a quick understanding who the players are on page one

        are they accurate who knows but if you look at enough data you start seeing trends

        would I take that to the bank, NO, but you have to use something and backlinks for me don't give me enough information

        I see lots of low DA sites beating high DA sites on page one, so it requires digging a little deeper

        most times it means the content of the high DA sites don't provide enough relevant information for that particular keyword while the much lower DA site meets the relevancy requirements better than the higher DA sites

        again it requires some research to understand why some sites are ranking over others

        it's more of an Art than a Science to sense of the results lately
