I don't know how to SEO

I don't know how to setup yoast that it will work. I have paid a few people to do some seo for me and even though I paid them, I had ZERO improvement. 2 times i have paid for nothing.

All these people claimed to be an "expert" just to take my money.

I have a 5 years old site with great content, several hundred images, 300 pages, 30,000 words PLUS an exact match domain and still can't be found in Google for any keywords, even my exact match domain.

I need some serious no bullshit help here. What would you do?

1. Hire someone? Who can I trust that can actually fix this issue for the last time?

2. Learn for myself? Where would I learn the right way to setup Yoast?

I'd try to get someone to take a look. You might have some smallish technical details wrong. Well, that seems possible especially if you're not just painting a rosy picture here. Some SEOs might just take a peek for free, or you might find someone from a forum.

I'd try to also get a picture of the current situation. You've registered the site to Google Webmaster Tools, right? If they find something wrong with your site that's the place to find their suggestions. After that really see how the site ranks with your keywords. Get a SERP tracker.

I'd probably still hire someone, but not the kind of people who you're been using. No freelancers from sketchy sites, but long-running SEO companies from your area. Of course this depends on your resources.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

There are a lot of SEO tools to help you out I think plus bought traffic sources like webtrafficgeeks.com or traffmasters that can give you traffic right away. No need to really put a lot of time and effort just to see results, especially if you're not an expert.

That's an interesting concept. Have you personally used these companies?

  • seo isn't something you can learn over night. Just read the forums and soak up as much information as you can from people who actually know what they're doing.

A 5 years old site means the site has a lot of backlinks. You can start auditing your backlinks to check how quality they are? Auditing takes time, and you need some paid tools to get all the links pointing to your site.

    Did you try PBN? Hmmm!

Learn for myself? Where would I learn the right way to setup Yoast?
    - Isn't yoast is easy to set up? Maybe you are asking for the advance set up?

Not sure if delightfully sarcastic or just plain wrong.

You can't learn SEO from a few videos, and you're not going to be an expert by following Google's guidelines. Just look at this forum: most of the advice is dubious at best.

Lol, for the most part that's a fail considering there's so much lame affiliate junk on Youtube. Ok If you want something specific like Loopline videos for Scrapebox or something similar.

OP is using Yoast, odds are SEO might as well be rocket science. SEO takes time to learn. SEO is all about being able to research & do your own test otherwise you're just guessing.

Yoast's plugin set up... Don't know what you need, it's simple... You can find a video guide in youtube.

But, setting it up correctly is not the same as doing SEO.

What that plugin does is give you an easier way to place your keyword(s) in the right places.

You can get that right and still not rank.

Once I optimize a single page with yoast, where can I go and test the page to make sure what have have done will be looked on favorably by Google? I see a ton of test sites, but who can I trust?

Then, how would you suggest I tell Google the page has been updated?

I have an exact match domain as well. I have it on a 301 redirect to this page but the page itself should rank on it's own. If you type in my exact match domain, it redirects to this page under my other domain but neither the exact match domain nor this page shows up in Google search when I search on this keyword.

I think at first, I just need to make sure the page is properly constructed and have google reindex it, if the page tests OK.

EDIT: OK. I finally found a place that would give me a page rank for my keyword that isn't BS.

    https://www.searchenginegenie.com/go...k-checker.html

It said, my old page ranked 40th for my keyword. I checked the 40th spot and it is showing. Fine. At least that's a start.

This page is the old page though that I had up before I installed Yoast and optimized the page. Now I need to tell google to go index and rank this page again with the new changes.

What's the fastest way to get that page re-indexed?

How do I ask Google to re-index that page?

A lot of people use yoast, yoast has a lot of back end coding, you will need a hell of a lot of content to counter yoasts backend coding. I use simple html, I have gotten on page 1 with 8/10 keywords, 2/10 on page 3. I had to learn SEO, had a website made cheaply, no visitors, no ranking, did a hell of a lot of reading for months and months, it takes time for SEO to set in. Concentrate on on page (site) optimisation SEO, your the boss. Off page optimisation your not in control but you need it to thrive. Can you list your website?

Hi. If you want to hire an expert, kindly visit websites such as upworks that offer experts in different fields. The platform offers an opportunity for you to pay the person after the job has been done. The other option is being able to learn on your own, find the Yoast documentation and relevant guidelines through YouTube that will help you make sure the site is in the right page of ranking. This option is best especially if you are the one doing the posting.
