Make a list of forums that are related, then start participating on those forums. Make sure to have your link in your signature. Also, Bookmark all of the best posts of your forum. Its not the traffic you should worry about its getting people to sign up. Lots of forums have traffic but little users. hope you understand my point

Update unique and informative content in website using relevant target keywords, Optimize each post with Update date meta Title and Description. Create backlinks for other relevant posts and keywords from other relevant sites.

First of all: Create good and original content. The best way to get a solid growth to your traffic is create good content.
Try obtaining backlinks from other websites. The best method here is to search for blogs where you can do some guest posting (but watch out for duplicate content).

Social media is your number two friend. Create pages and try to build a solid community around them. Even if the links from social media are nofollow links, you will still get solid traffic from your social media pages.

Write original, unique content which should be engaging for the readers. Do ON-Page SEO like adding videos, images with proper Alt tags, putting subheadings, H1, H2 tags, catchy titles.

Install Yoast SEO plugin if you are using wordpress. Create a robots.txt file. This is all about preliminary SEO.

For promotion, focus on sharing it on social media. Use facebook groups as a promotion technique. Create big groups where engagement can be more.

Once your site has a good standing and a lot of content, around 30-40 articles. start building links slowly.

And to add on that, there's another resource that you can benefit from.
The Advanced Guide To SEO

Learn it well, because these guys knew what they're doing. You would be better than searching & following "get quick money system method". Because, it won't help you at all.

Well you could always go on facebook and find groups that fit the niche you are in. Just a 100 of them or so doesn't take that long. Then you post your articles to the groups and leave a link back to your website. There you go. Lazer targeted traffic that cost you nothing but the time on your watch.
