Hi,
I've hired more than one "SEO" agencies before who promised the world to take my money and no results. I'm almost at the point where I'm giving up on SEO. I'm looking for someone who actually can get me result and help with visibility for my Locksmith business.
Thank you.

Mike

You'll keep guessing If anything is being done until you learn the basics of SEO & what ranks pages.

Keep in mind no SEO service provider owns Google search therefore any ranked position guarantee is nonsesne. An SEO provider can guarantee work will be done with every intention on ranking webpages but that's as far as it goes. That's the reality of the business.

Low budget one size fits all SEO packages is also nonsense. Each business is unique & should have backlinks from same/similar niche domain/pages If you expect to rank long term on the SERPs.

I understand how it works and budget never been a problem! I have tried hiring service form individuals and "big companies " like higher visibility, but no results! That's why I'm reaching out to someone in here who might help.
      Thank you for the reply

Ok, what did the SEO service provider do to try & rank your pages?

I'm asking you this because unless you actually know what an SEO provider is doing you can't possibly know If the SEO failed, the budget failed or the client failed. I'm not picking sides just pointing out jumping from SEO providers every few months is a fail on it's own.

You wouldn't believe the messes some service providers create which the next legit SEO provider has to try and clean up (spam link blast - impossible to clean up), which the client has to shell out more money to get back to a stable site & only then start doing SEO.

I've also seen clients refuse to change anything on their own domain/pages to help rank a page. Things like, I've spent a bunch of money on a beautiful flash site, no way I'm changing anything isn't uncommon yet they'll never rank a page & complain about an SEO provider.

I know there's a lot of hacks out there but you need to be specific otherwise you'll end up with every scam imaginable.

BTW, I wouldn't even consider a client If the domain was abused by past SEO providers. Cleaning up other folks abused domains/link profiles just isn't interesting.

The problem with a competitive local keyword such as 'locksmith', you can probably guarantee that whatever you are spending on SEO, them all your competitors are probably doing the same --> you get no where as they are all doing it as well.

Maybe you should invest in adwords? It seems you can't find the right SEO company so why not take matters in your own hands? At least this way your money won't be wasted and you can see which keywords are converting best for you.

If everyone else failed why not try to take control in your hand. I know it could be quite difficult, also depends upon your time and interest in this field but for long term this will work. It will not just help you to do SEO your own (optional) but let you judge if the SEO companies are doing good when you hire someone in future. You sure can go for outsourcing these kind of jobs but it will always be good if you too have some basic knowledge in that field.

What town and state are you in how much competition you have in your area makes a big difference in what can be done and how your website is designed as well.

I make Locksmith websites and most all of them are on page one in Google for the town they in for many keys words like transponder keys, car lockouts and so on. I am a locksmith as well but been making websites much longer. PM me if you like.

Though the OP started this thread last year I would suggest anyone in his position stop thinking of SEO as one thing. Its actually two things and in many cases the one SEO isn't good at both things (so you can consider hiring two different people at different stages)

    A) its making sure the on page factors are done right. the technical aspects of title and H tags and navigation and even the relevance score of the page etc (not a full list just some examples)

Many sites dont need to hire a guy on a monthly basis for this. it can be a one month and done deal unless they are always adding content

    B) link building acquisition - and in the case of the OP who has a physical business his family might depend on its organic natural web building. Contacting webmasters creating content that can get links, maybe some social ( to interface with the public to get links not as a ranking factor) yeah maybe some buying links

Different skill set than on page and much more needs to be ongoing. its usually on B where the results go south.

Anyway interesting to see a good post on here for a change
