Weak Compeition - No Web 2.0 Properties

I've recently never tackled niche keywords that only has websites in the top 10 results. Usually I look out for a web 2.0 property in and aroudn the top 2 pages.
I'm not sure whether to chase this down if it'snot advisable to try when no web 2.0 propetries are there.
What's yoru thoughts?
