Generally this type of traffic is generated by spams. As Prabha mentioned, you can check GA data and if there is any spam then you can create one filter for spam. If no spam is there then may be you need to put some good internal linking in your pages.

Make your landing page to load faster. I checked and it seems your landing page is taking around 8 seconds to load in my machine. No one wait till that time. Improve load time please.

What a load of bollocks. Do not listen to these guys, they seem to have no idea what they're talking about.

Bounce is simply a visitor who only requested one page from your site, and left immediately afterwards. You need to check the kind of traffic your site is getting. Where did it come from? Bad site design or bot attack could be one reason, but it's far more typical to see high bounce rates when you're running social media campaigns. People come for the thing you advertise, and aren't interested your other stuff no matter what you try.

Bounce rate is not a ranking factor, but it may be a sign of a problem on the site. However, you can never say that unless you really check the stats.

Actually, it is sometimes true. A spike in bounce rate CAN be caused by an influx of bot traffic that Google Analytics did not recognize as bots. I have seen it happen.

To the OP, you want to check what kind of traffic it is in your Analytics account. If it is a bunch of direct traffic, then it could likely be a bunch of bots or scrapers visiting the site. I would not worry about it too much.

If it is search engine or PPC traffic, then it could be a sign of a more serious problem.

It also kind of depends on how much traffic we are talking about. If the site only gets 20 visits a day, it would not take much for the bounce rate to spike like that suddenly. If it is 2000 visitors a day and you saw a spike like that, it is worth investigating.

Fortunately, bounce rate is not a ranking signal, so it is not going to hurt your site, as nettiapina pointed out. You just want to be certain that it is not being caused by some sort of website error which could hurt conversions.

There's constant bot attacks going on, that's true. It's not rare for the bots to land on a page on the site even though they're often trying to target a script.

My point was that you can't make blanket statements about the bounce rate.

Thanks You so much nettiapina and Mike Friedman,

I think you are right, I am running a social media campaign from couple of month, since I have started campaign, I am seeing the bounce rate is going hire!! You make me a little bit relief that bounce rate is not a ranking factor at all, Though I need to take care of it. However one page of the site, is getting rank now a days, so I was concerned about this issue.

Thanks again to all for your valuable advise..

Try to maximize your organic traffic of your website this will decrease bounce rate of your website. If suddenly your website bounce rate increased than check in analytic account for spammy traffic or referring site link.

If your blog site bounce rate is high then you must use internal linking to reduce bounce rate of your blog by building internal links to other pages on your blog and this will tremendously going to reduce your bounce rate are readers will click and read more posts and pages on your website
